McGillicuddy improved each time she took the court for the Valkyries. She sets her feet well then uses a good platform to deliver two to three-point passes to setter Mallory Jones Mallory Jones 5'7" | S/DS/L Rowan County | 2027 State KY so Jones can set up the powerful Rowan County hitters. Her deep line drive serves give opponents fits and she makes good out of system sets. She’ll only get better during club season. McGillicuddy had 371 digs and 65 aces for Rowan County this past fall.

McGillicuddy’s defense is a huge reason the Valkyries are off to a 7-1 start on the season. McGillicuddy keeps her eyes on hitters and does what she can to beat balls to their spots. McGillicuddy lines herself up properly with the blockers and only lunges when needed. McGillicuddy sends nice deep serves to the lines trying to keep opponents out of system.
