What a way to close out the club season.

Wave 2 of USAV Nationals brought the nation's best 16U and 17U competitors to Dallas for one final championship push. We have so many finer details and individual standouts to cover, but we're starting broad as we did yesterday for Wave 4 of AAU Nationals.

Here are some of Nebraska's big winners from the final act at GJNC.

The 16s

This was an all-around exceptional effort from Nebraska's 16s contenders.

Of course, this is the age group where we found our pair of Gold contenders on the event's final day. [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Elite rallied from a 0-2 start, mounted a six-match winning streak, and punched its ticket to the coveted Gold bracket in 16 Open. 16 Elite's 2025 season was defined by resilient performances when faced with long odds, so this comeback bid is no surprise. We have several stars to discuss from this group.

Premier Nebraska 16 Black was the other headliner from this group in the 16 Freedom division. We'll have a full, in-depth feature on this group following a nine-match GJNC hot streak that put 16 Black on the Dallas podium. An up-and-down season ended with the greatest peak of the year.

We'll give one more 16s shoutout in this section. [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Black posted an 11th-place finish in a tough 16 National division loaded with Open-level teams. We were privileged to cover 16 Black's evolution this year, particularly as the team nearly swiped a 16 USA bid through the Show Me Qualifier. Another postseason berth is in this team's future.

Underdogs

Here's one for the underdogs.

We're still in awe of what the small-town crew of South Central NE 17 Black has accomplished on club volleyball's biggest stages. Sure, it might not be fair to call this team an underdog after the club's history of postseason success. However, few club teams in Dallas pull their players from such small municipalities, making 17 Black's achievements even more impressive. South Central NE backed up its incredible track record with a fifth-place finish in the 17 Liberty division.

Include [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 17 Black in this discussion, too. This team reinvented itself somewhat during the offseason, bringing in several new faces to a veteran lineup. Perhaps the synergy of having high school teammates on the same club team helped push 17 Black into postseason form. The team placed 13th in the 17 American division and has a lot to build upon heading into the fall season.

Club Depth

These age groups have provided a display of dominance from a select few of Nebraska's top clubs.

Premier Nebraska and [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] were all over this final wave. We were impressed by how well Premier Nebraska 17 Gold and 16 Gold rallied from tough starts to rack up late wins in Dallas. Both of these talent-stacked teams had special paths to GJNC's Open division, and this event was another vital pressure test.

[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] gets back into the mix in both age groups, too. We were thrilled to cover [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black's multiple forays into Gold brackets this year, and the team finished strong in GJNC's 16 American field. Meanwhile, [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 17 Elite came up just short of the final 17 Freedom bracket and has a lot of senior leaders for the upcoming fall campaign.
