Deck’s Deep Dive: August Prep For Prep Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August is one of the busiest months for me as a scout.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Volleyball and football practices will begin at high schools across the state in just a few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In preparation for the high school season, here is what you can expect to find on Prep Dig Kansas during August.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two sets of class rankings are scheduled for publication on August 5 and 12.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There will be plenty of coverage of those rankings updates for the classes of 2026 and 2027.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Team and league previews will be scattered on the site this month.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I will probably scout a couple of practices before matches get started on August 30.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Any school interested in having me attend a practice, feel free to reach out. Mill Valley's Florez is a gifted setter who has verbally committed to play at Iowa State University. She is a tall setter who can control the net in multiple ways. The Eagles will be a team to watch out west. They finished fourth last year at the Class 2A State Tournament and won over 40 matches. Moore registered 256 kills and 59 blocks as a junior.
