High School play spots hidden and proven talent in Lexington

A mid week game of the opening week of high school ball revealed to us some under the radar talent. We sought out a few rising talents and although they may have not won this week their future looks bright. We will continue to spot out those who are showing the skill and drive on the court and will continue to follow them this season! We looked at East Jessamine take on Dunbar HS, and we saw plenty to watch!    Cara consistently delivered nice hits down the line, showing excellent ball placement doing so! We saw the opposition repeatedly scramble trying to return her hits that were deep, accurate and added to her arsenal of producing points for the Lady Jags. Lyons is a definitely a strong addition to the front line putting up nice blocks with good transitions off the net and giving ample coverage to her teammates. She tips well, has good court IQ, is fast and athletic on the court, and doesn't need the perfect set to execute. We want to see more of this player, her season looks bright!     Do not underestimate Sloane, she brings her game every time she steps on the court! An enthusiastic player who is sneaky good and can put up kills! Sloane gives herself plenty of room to make those excellent cross court kills and packs nice power behind them with a good driving attack. She is fast on the court and gets the ball up in the air providing good cover. She tips stealthily and doesn't let the opposition know where she is placing the ball which she does accurately and smoothly. She hits equally well from either pin and has a fast approach and swing! She has a mean serve and lays it down on the court, an asset to any team! Sloane is a undercover weapon!       Elizabeth is a hustler on the court, her feet don't stop moving. She makes plays happen keeping the ball alive and puts herself in the right position to execute plays. She has quick reflexes and can put a dead ball up in the air, digging wholeheartedly. She has a great swing with good ball control and a great snap, she penetrated the Dunbar block more than once with a nice cut. Elizabeth looks to be a key player on the front line with confidence and excellent court IQ, always following the ball and providing good cover. She communicates with her teammates well on the court and looks to be a solid player. Lots to like about her play!     Sadie has stepped into the role as one of the core players for Dunbar this season, as she is suited to it. Stuart is not a hidden talent but a proven valuable talent. She is an imposing player at the net and plays with confidence that matches her size. She has a powerful swing that will bring the backrow to it's knees and executes her block with perfect timing. She can put a kill down the seams like no tomorrow and connects with ball perfectly. She tips with excellent ball control and is a covers with good play off the net. She is a leader on the court and is a key piece for Dubar this year, she is a gamechanger on the court!       Eva produced a couple really nice kills penetrating the Dunbar block with great style. She has proper footwork and arm swing with her attack, a clean fast swing, with good contact and good vertical. She places the ball smartly on the court and shows she has what it takes to hang with the top team. She is quick on the court, puts up a good block and follows the play. She provides good cover, communicates well and is enthusiastic on the court and sidelines. Lots to love about this upcoming player!
