Eva looks more like a right side hitting in the middle than a true middle might be, but her long arms and high attack point help her hit two-footed attacks both in front of and behind the setter regularly. A little small for the middle but with arms that can make up for it, her block is solid and can redirect attacks coming her way, making defenders thankful that she’s there. I’d like to see her hit from the right side a bit more, as she projects to be there more than middle at the next level.

Howard (pictured) terminates balls with authority. Bluegrass Reign concluded club season before spring break and Howard hopes to use the rest to come into the high school season with a flurry. Howard does a great job balancing power and precision into her hits in the middle and the outside. Howard makes the most of sets in and out of system. When the spacing is there, Howard sees the other side and places balls away from opponents.

Howard has turned into a solid hitter for the 15-1 squad. Howard pounds ones to different parts of the court and does a great job cutting balls to the sides of blockers. She is also effective running slides and other plays. Coaches say it is a hard balance for hitters when it comes to power and placement. However, Howard manages to put down a lot of balls. Howard said it depends on the set as to whether she focuses more on placement as opposed to smoking balls. Howard said if the set is near the net she can focus more on placement but has to focus more on power to get balls in the court if not.

Howard does a good job placing balls away from defensive specialists. She has good form on her net approaches and a quick arm swing. Her range also comes in handy for the Jaguars with her ability to put up good blocks. Howard also does a great job communicating on the court and brings great enthusiasm whether in the game or not.
