Houston Open Elite Setters

We were able to identify several players with incredible potential during the day and will now start featuring them. A freshman, she earned an All-Tournament Team selection for her performance, showing she's ready to make an impact on the team right from the start of her high school career. An extremely technical player, she displayed great intelligence when running the team's offense, doing a great job of distributing the ball among her hitters and remaining accurate with her locations. The freshman had probably the best setting hands in the entire event and was one of three players on her team to earn an All-Tournament Team selection. Extremely technical, Xu displayed a very creative approach with her playmaking, playing quick sets to her hitters and frequently moving them at the net. A junior, she led the team on the court and was rewarded with an All-Tournament Team selection. The setter had a very clean touch on the ball and used her height to accelerate the game when in system. When working with passes of the net, Deleon thrived with her ability to remain accurate and put her hitters in good spots to score points. The setter kept the team's offense going at a strong rhythm with her ability to accelerate the game and used all of her hitters. Davis' touch on the ball was very clean, and she did a good job of setting against the flow. The sophomore was one of the bright spots on the team, displaying an itneresting ability to remain accurate even having to operate out of system for most of the time. The setter did a good job on the backcourt too, serving well and playing solid defense, and managed to recover many balls when covering her hitters.
