Katy-Cypress Tournament Hard-Working Liberos

With the event now completed, we're now featuring the players who stood out in each position. One of the best in the position in the state, she had a central role in the team's campaign, making a huge impact on the backcourt. Very intelligent and technical, Hopkins was a stud on defense, popping up in the right spots to find the ball and displaying excellent ball control to handle with swings. The libero also had a prominent role in serve-receive, covering a massive chunk of the court and remaining accurate with her deliveries. She got the job done at a very high level on the backcourt despite not being one to produce flashy digs. Chaddock read the game extremely well and was always in the right spot, making difficult digs look easy. She was also very reliable in serve-receive, playing with great confidence and doing a great job of keeping her team in system. Extremely confident and steady, she played like a veteran on the backcourt and was one of the pillars of the team. Gutierrez was extremely reliable with her passing and showed excellent ball control to deal with some tough serves that went her way. That also showed when she played defense, as her ability to read the game generated many opportunities for her to get on the ball, and she did well in each of them. She quietly put on excellent shifts, using her ability to read the game and her excellent ball control to get the job done on the backcourt. Anderson was always very close to the ball when playing defense, which showed an interesting ability to anticipate plays. She was excellent when playing defense, doing a great job of understanding the possibilities of opposing hitters when they were on the ball and making good choices with her positioning. When swings went her way, Wolskij displayed excellent ball control to deal with them, having a very positive success rate in her defensive actions.
