–

With a full summer under our belts, this has been one heck of a whirlwind for the athletes in Michigan.

Some of the best of the best in the class of 2027 were making some huge announcements. Meanwhile, we still had quite a few big moves from the stars of the 2026 class as well. Just in the first two months of open recruitment, over 15 of the top 25 ranked athletes in the class of 2027 have found their next home! In this addition, we have ourselves with an ALL-2026 update.

Commitments flying left and right, it was hard to keep up with who was going where. No need to worry though, because we have you covered. Let's take a look at another addition of Commitment Catch-Up.

5'10 S - Forest Hills Northern/FaR Out

This is an absolute steal in the class of 2026. [player_tooltip player_id='226936' first='Lexie' last='Stotenbur'] has slowly, but surely become one of the strongest players in this class. And her accolades and success can surely back up that statement. Two consecutive Final Four appearances for Forest Hills Northern at the setting position, Stotenbur than blossomed into her own in the club scene. With FaR Out, she recently led her 18 Black and MunciOuta teams to a Top Ten finish at Triple Crown and a Runner Up finish in 17 Open at AAU Nationals. This girl knows how to win.

Mercer saw these winning trends and just had to leap at the opportunity. In 2024, the Bears were a mere 2 points away from winning the SoCon tournament and in turn, a berth to the NCAA Tournament. With a player such as Stotenbur on the roster, this could be the game changer they need to make that jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='216201' first='Cara' last='Wolf'] to Malone

5'5 DS/L - Grand Rapids Catholic Central/FaR Out

Whenever you get a FaR Out libero, you are in for a treat. [player_tooltip player_id='216201' first='Cara' last='Wolf'] is exactly that. Wolf has been a long time standout from the West Side of Michigan. A steady presence in the back court and a true leader for both her club and high school teams. In her early prep career, Wolf was pivotal in leading FaR Out to several top finishes in the National scene.

This is definitely the type of player that could change the tides for any program. For Malone, they're looking to do just that. With Wolf's ball control in the back court and her leadership on and off the court, Malone could really turn things around in these coming years.

[player_tooltip player_id='631464' first='Mya' last='Eberlein'] to Eastern Michigan

6'2 MB - Edwardsburg/NIVA

Talk about a late bloomer in this one, but talk about a real potential steal as well. [player_tooltip player_id='631464' first='Mya' last='Eberlein'] has had my attention for quite some years now. Always one of the tallest on the court, with an extra few inches in her wing span, I always liked what I saw from this player. Since I first saw her though, her game has done nothing but skyrocket. She's become a much stronger player, both physically and mentally. It has been quite impressive to see.

If you don't want to take it from me, Eastern Michigan seems to have the same sentiments. As this is the next stop for Eberlein in her growing career. EMU, under new leadership, has been making some pretty big moves in the last year or so. Eberlein proves to be another one of those that could really elevate the Eagles in the MAC conversation.

[player_tooltip player_id='839890' first='Skyye' last='Frailey'] to Wayne State

5'9 OH - Troy Athens/Monsters

I have been curious to see where this player would end up. A bit on the undersized side, however, where [player_tooltip player_id='839890' first='Skyye' last='Frailey'] lacks in height, she makes up for in her vert. This athlete is a nice jumper with a lot of different tools in her tool box as an attacker. She has spent the last several seasons developing at L2 and will enter her senior season playing with local club, Monsters.

Looking to next fall, Frailey will head down Woodward Ave to join the Wayne State Warriors. The Warriors, just recently voted to finish third in the GLIAC, is building up some strong momentum going into the second half of the 2020s. With an athlete such as Frailey, this could be a great get for WSU.

Aubree Deshetksy

[player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] to <s>Wofford</s> Indiana Wesleyan

5'11 OH - North Branch/Michigan Elite

Now, speaking of steals, big gets, game changing commitments - there is no need to look any further than [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky']. While once was a huge pick up for a burgeoning force at the Mid-Major D1 level, Wofford. Deshetsky has recently had some second thoughts and announced she would be reopening her recruiting and going to Indiana Wesleyan.

This came to quite the shock of people throughout the volleyball world in Michigan. [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] is in many ways one of the top players in the state. She's a two-time state champion and multiple record holder (Kills in a season & Aces in a match) for North Branch, a statewide powerhouse. This player is also the FAVORITE to take home the 2025 Miss Volleyball award.

However, after a change of scenery and perspective, Deshetsky was looking for something a little different and closer to home. It also doesn't hurt to see all of the success that IWU has been having in recent years. Where Wofford was achieving their second straight (and ever) NCAA tournament berth, IWUVB was winning their second straight NAIA National Title. A number that will surely SKYROCKET with the likes of Deshetsky on tap. This is a national player of the year caliber player for IWU.

Closer to home, Aubree's older brother Drake Deshetsky was a part of the IWU Football team. He played pivotal roles in their three consecutive NAIA National Quarterfinal appearances and one Semifinal appearance. He is concluding his eligibility at Grand Valley State this fall.
