They are the quarterbacks of the court—responsible for running the offense, making quick reads, and delivering the perfect ball to their hitters. A great setter has the ability to change the rhythm of a match, disguise their decisions, and keep opposing blockers off balance.

In South Dakota, the setter position is loaded with talent. From fast hands and precise location to tactical decision-making and leadership, these athletes are proving why they're some of the most valuable players in the state. Setters must master the art of tempo—whether it's pushing a ball pin-to-pin, running a quick in the middle, or threading a back-row attack. They not only distribute the offense but also energize the team with their presence, communication, and relentless competitiveness.

[player_tooltip player_id='751606' first='Alexis' last='Lincecum'] – Ranked #3 Setter in South Dakota, Class of 2027 – Uncommitted

[player_tooltip player_id='751606' first='Alexis' last='Lincecum'] has the type of hands college coaches look for in a high-level setter—fast, clean, and consistent in location. Ranked as the No. 3 setter in the state, Alexis runs an efficient offense with the ability to adjust tempo and keep blockers guessing. Her decision-making is a strength, showing confidence in setting the hot hand but also finding ways to spread the offense and get everyone involved. She thrives in out-of-system situations, keeping rallies alive with athletic second-ball contact and a court presence that brings composure to her team. Alexis is a natural leader and has the tools to be a setter who can elevate hitters at the next level.

~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='748041' first='Mya' last='Glines'] – Ranked #6 Setter in South Dakota, Class of 2027 – Uncommitted

Ranked No. 6 in South Dakota, [player_tooltip player_id='748041' first='Mya' last='Glines'] has the floor awareness and offensive IQ to make her hitters more effective.
