These young players have already made significant impacts on their teams, showcasing talent, resilience, and an impressive understanding of the game. These athletes not only excelled in their freshman campaigns but have also set the stage for a thrilling season ahead. Let's take a closer look at the standout players who are ready to make waves in Class 1 volleyball.

[player_tooltip player_id='827737' first='Sadie' last='Kile'] ā 5'9ā ā Winona

Winona has a history of bringing freshmen who instantly make massive contributions, and Sadie is one of the best. Not only did she lead all of 2028 in kills with 547, she finished 10th in the state for all classes. Sadie is a smart middle who knows precisely where to place the ball and consistently gets kills. During the final four, she played poised beyond her years, and I'm excited to see what she can do this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='729434' first='Asa' last='Lasater'] ā 5'8ā ā Lockwood

No other 2028 player accomplished as much this season as Asa did, and she has done it all in her first season. Guided the volleyball team to a district title, the basketball team to the quarterfinals, and the softball a runner-up finish, and was the top player for all three teams. Asa finished with 468 kills, good for 2nd behind Sadie. A pure athlete who will have Lockwood pushing this season for more than a district title.

[player_tooltip player_id='809752' first='Loryn' last='Pierson'] ā 6'0ā ā Bismarck

Loryn isn't her team's top threat returning this season, which should make Bismarck scary again. Loryn had a monster first season, finishing with 286 kills and 53 blocks. The potential is there for Loryn to have another big year, and her kill efficiency should improve after gaining some considerable confidence after such an outstanding freshman campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='797757' first='Preslie' last='Mannon'] ā 5'7ā ā Bell City

The second part of the sister duo at Bell City is one of the most promising players in the SEMO area. Preslie had a fantastic season playing with [program_tooltip program_id='428797' first='Pursuit' last=''] 15 National as the team's libero. Preslie has to do it all for the Cubs as she finished with 207 kills on the outside and scooped up 366 digs. Bell City needs to get by Advance and Preslie will give her all on both sides of the ball.

Braylyn Wood ā 5'9ā ā Rock Port

One thing that Rock Port isn't short of is returning youth, and Braylyn is one of the top players returning. After finishing with 194 kills and 346 digs, Braylyn has her sights set on winning that extra game to reach the final four.

[player_tooltip player_id='830286' first='Bella' last='Pogue'] ā 5'7ā ā Ellington

If what I'm hearing is true, Pogue might be one of the best returning players in the Class 1 loaded Black River League. That's saying a lot because the BRL will be more balanced than ever this year. Pogue finished with 265 kills last year playing predominantly the three rotations, and if she can add in the defensive skills to match her offense, she could be damaging to opponents.
