Each season, Calvert is consistently in the mix among teams that have high aspirations for a state crown that is also backed by tradition, culture, and talent to make an honest effort deep in the postseason phase. Each season they seem to have an army of prospects that fills their individual roles well and creates good balance across all phases of the game. Junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='503990' first='Bryn' last='Dircksen'] is a veteran competitor that is behind the balance of their offense as she is offering up over 10 assists per set early in the season. She is just shy of 1,300 career assists as her positive impact as a floor leader mirrors what she can do with hands and distribution. As a team, Calvert is terminating nearly 14 kills per set collectively led by the big arm of junior [player_tooltip player_id='480860' first='Bella' last='Borgio']. The Santa Clara commit has been terminating at a high rate for multiple seasons and is seemingly swinging the best she ever has. On pace for a career-best average for a season, she is ahead of her 2024 output with a team high 4.4 k/s average. More impressively, she is terminating 51% of the time. Also commanding respect from opposing defenses are senior [player_tooltip player_id='848346' first='Emily' last='Miller'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='806732' first='Megan' last='Rombach']. Miller will surpass 500 career kills soon as she has been a consistent piece for Calvert over recent seasons with her aggressive arm and ability to score from either side of the court. Her 2.8 k/s average is second on the team. Rombach is equally athletic with a nice arm. She has upgraded her impact to a career best 2.5 k/s so far in 2025. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='793179' first='Claire' last='Schoenberger'] anchors their first-touch work as she leads the team at 4.2 digs per set. She plays with good demeanor and ability to read and react as needed to get Dircksen in good situations to run their offense. Old Fort is next on their schedule.

The Braves' offense is led the by the arm of senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='227625' first='Claire' last='King'] (*pictured). She continues to sustain her average of five kills per set, a standard she set her sophomore season. The Southeastern Louisiana commit is versatile and athletic. Impressively, she can elevate and terminate with good arm speed and command of location and control of her pace. Adding nearly 10 digs per match, she contributes a well rounded effort for her team. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='828969' first='Adelyn' last='Smith'] adds 2.5 k/s to the Braves' offense and is on pace for a career best effort for a season. This team's x-factor may be senior [player_tooltip player_id='834109' first='Kennedy' last='Groff']. She is represented all across the stat sheet for Logan Elm. As their primary setter, she averages nearly eight assists per set while also providing 1.3 k/s, eight digs per match, while leading the team in service aces. As King and Groff contribute 3.2 and 2.8 digs per set respectively, it is senior [player_tooltip player_id='803386' first='Sadie' last='Binkley'] that leads their defense. At 3.8 d/s, Binkley jumped ahead of 800 career digs as she is building upon a career best for a single season when she picked up 351 digs in 2024. Logan Elm has not dropped a set as they 18-0 in sets played including some solid wins over Unioto and Zane Trace. They next take on London and New Lexington this coming weekend.
