We've come to the second-to-last 2026 rankings update. Just as the high school season here in Indiana starts, and just as I write this next sentence, there are 74 class of '26 kids committed to playing volleyball at the next level. From [player_tooltip player_id='512366' first='Elli' last='Strecker'] (Louisville commit) in Zionsville to [player_tooltip player_id='394127' first='Ella' last='Vandermark'] (Hillsdale commit) in Danville to [player_tooltip player_id='272380' first='Aubrey' last='Hreha'] (Manchester commit) in Washington Township, we have a wide varitety of kids playing in all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and at the junior college levels. We're going to spend the next week talking about a bunch of different athletes---30 in all---that are either committed or uncommitted and actively looking for a place to play for the fall of '26. Here's what to expect this week:

The updated rankings are based on college readiness, not how they are currently.

By updating the rankings, we move kids into positions that most reflect their readiness to play at the collegiate level. With that being said, those that have earned their commitment prior to the last update won't move at all---nothing's changed from their commitment to warrant a move. Those that haven't aren't deemed "ready" by our estimations. Things always change in the recruitment game, so if we've missed a commitment here or there, let us know so that we can accurately portray your profile. If you wish to update the profile yourself, you have the ability to do so at any time, without needing a paid subscription to do so.

That being said, if there is a club or position change, or if you're no longer going for playing in college, we need to know that too.

Every year, athletes end their recruitment for our amazing sport because of (1) commitments to another sport, (2) no longer playing club ball, or (3) graduating a year early to attend college quicker. All three scenarios can be reflected in this year's recruiting class, so none of that is new to us. But if we don't know, it's hard to read people's minds. Keep the lines of communication open, let us know what your plans are, and we'll go from there.

These are opinions and not hard-and-fast rules to your child's recruitment.

Kids going through the recruiting process is a long struggle. Some get lucky and find their perfect home immediately, while others continue the grind all the way through next spring. No two journies are alike, and none should be compared to another. Comparison is the thief of joy, after all. These are also opinion-based rankings as well, meaning that those kids could be more or less prepared for college than what we say.

The next six days feature five different players from five different clubs EACH.

We'll touch on the following categories over the next six days:

Positional breakdowns (W: Pins, Th: Middles, F: Setters, Sat: DS/L

Each positional breakdown will feature uncommitted athletes from all parts of the state representing a different club per athlete, and each of those athletes will have a personalized evaluation as to what each athlete can bring to the table. No, there's never a guarantee that each of these athletes will earn a commitment for the next level, but we will do everything in our power to help her along the way.

This is meant to be fun and enjoyable. As such, be nice.

We receive dozens of emails per week for various reasons. Most of the emails we receive have enough vitriol to power a small political convention. That's not what we're about, and we will ignore and likely discard any less-than-nice comments coming our way. Be mindful---just because someone set all the records at a certain position in a 1A school doesn't mean she's the best in her position for a collegate response. If you're nice, we'll read and most likely respond. After all, this is a game, and meant to be enjoyed.
