Who’s Running the Show? Nevada Setters Already Over 100 Assists

Through just the first few weeks of the 2025 season, several Nevada setters have already crossed the 100-assist mark, proving how vital they are to their teams' success. These floor generals not only distribute the ball with precision, but also control the pace of play and elevate the hitters around them. She has finished first in assists the past two seasons, and all signs point to her doing it again. Surrounded by elite hitters, her game still stands out because of her clean mechanics, precise ball placement, and ability to control tempo. A former standout at our showcase, she has sharpened her hands and delivers consistently clean balls that allow her hitters to thrive. Pair her decision-making with the Wildcats' offensive weapons, and it's no surprise Las Vegas is finding success. This season has all the makings of being her best yet. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Dalilah stepped into a tough role this year, taking over for Centennial's graduated setter, and has exceeded expectations with 156 assists in 21 sets. She's been steady under pressure, delivering clutch balls and distributing her offense evenly. Her confidence running the court has already made her a central piece of Centennial's offense, and she looks primed to stay among the state leaders in assists. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Clara has been a spark for Green Valley, who are off to a strong 6-3 start behind her 149 assists in 22 sets. She reads the game well, knows when to feed her hot hitters, and keeps the offense balanced. Averaging 6.8 assists per set, the junior is trending up and should only become more effective as the season progresses. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Lyla is only a freshman and has already proven herself as one of the most polished young setters in Nevada. She's recorded 139 assists in 19 sets while also adding 11 aces and 31 digs, showing she's more than just a distributor. Her decision-making is advanced for her age, and her ability to contribute as a scorer and playmaker. She is a player you always want on the court. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     With 129 assists in 17 sets, Phoebe has once again established herself as one of the state's most reliable setters. A consistent name near the top of the stat charts last year, she's showing no signs of slowing down. More than just a distributor, Phoebe is an all-around athlete—currently leading her team in both service aces and digs. She gives Moapa Valley a versatile weapon who impacts matches in every phase. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Miy'Aja is a senior leader who continues to prove why she's always near the top of Nevada's assist rankings, with 115 in 20 sets so far. Her hustle and ability to turn broken plays into points set her apart, while her tough serve and above-average defense add another dimension to her game. With championship experience already under her belt, she knows what it takes to win and is guiding her team one match at a time. --Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Freshman setter [player_tooltip player_id='877300' first='Lea' last='Scott'] is already making waves, recording 109 assists in 21 sets. She has the natural touch and confidence of a seasoned veteran, showing court vision and creativity that's rare for her age. Her strong topspin jump serve makes her a threat at the line, while her poise on the floor shows she was built for this position.
