These Juniors Are Making It Hard Not to Recruit Them

For the 2027 class, this is no longer about potential alone. It is about consistency, decision-making, and how athletes respond when the level rises.   This group of juniors didn't just perform, they showed why they are moving into a real recruiting window. Through their play and their own reflections, these athletes gave insight into how they think the game, how they handle pressure, and what they are prioritizing in their development right now.   For college coaches, this is the phase where interest turns into action. These are the players making it harder to wait.    [player_tooltip player_id='949973' first='Natalia' last='Gerber'] approached the weekend with an aggressive offensive mindset, consistently looking to score while showing adaptability in out-of-system situations. When full swings were not available, she demonstrated awareness by tooling the block and placing shots into open space, forcing the defense to adjust. Her ability to transition between power and control reflected a developing understanding of how to manage tempo and make efficient decisions at the net.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “I will focus on being more consistent with my energy. I think sometimes my energy can go dull and then spike back up so I need to work on maintaining high energy even in the dull moments.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Gerber values time with friends and family while continuing to prioritize personal growth, which aligns with her reflective approach to development.   Next tournament: Event #4   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='727103' first='Zoe' last='Davis'] contributed to a strong team performance, helping stabilize play through consistent serve receive and communication. Maintaining a 2.0 passing average, she provided reliable first contact, allowing her team to stay in system even while short-handed. Her ability to stay composed and contribute across multiple phases of the game reflected a steady presence and an understanding of how to support team success through controlled play.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “One thing that my team and I will focus on is our blocking. Although we hard-drill it every practice, it has JUST started to transfer onto the court.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Davis maintains a high academic standard, carrying a 4.1 weighted GPA and showing discipline that translates into her approach to volleyball.   Next tournament: SCSN Bid Event Tournament   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='586687' first='Mileena' last='Lapuz'] showed range and recovery ability in defensive sequences, particularly in extended plays where positioning and second-effort reactions were required. Her ability to track deflections, adjust to altered ball trajectories, and extend rallies with one-handed digs highlighted both her spatial awareness and defensive instincts. From the service line, she created separation with a sustained run, applying pressure and giving her team momentum.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “One thing that I will focus on is keeping calm during long rallies and adjusting quicker in serve receive.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Lapuz emphasizes recovery and self-care, showing an awareness of how to manage her body through long tournament weekends. She has also identified an interest in Public Health or Nursing, reflecting long-term focus beyond volleyball.   Next tournament: Apr. 3–5, Windy City Qualifier   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='548314' first='Siena' last='Warren'] operated with control and intention, focusing on running a balanced offense while keeping opposing defenses off rhythm. Her consistency in set location and tempo allowed hitters to stay in system, and her willingness to contribute offensively at the net added another layer to her decision-making. She showed an understanding of how to manage flow within the offense, using distribution and tempo to create advantages.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “I want to continue to work on improving on my mechanics and footwork.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Warren is engaged in the Health Institute at Oaks Christian and recently participated in a medical service trip to the Dominican Republic, reinforcing her goal of becoming a doctor.   Next tournament: April 2–4, West Coast Qualifier   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='783171' first='Calise' last='Hawley'] brought consistent energy and defensive effort, showing a willingness to pursue every ball while contributing in both primary and secondary roles. Her defensive presence helped stabilize play in tight moments, and her use of hands on out-of-system balls added value to her team's offensive efficiency. She demonstrated awareness of her responsibilities beyond her primary position, particularly in transition situations.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “One thing I will focus on improving next is being there for my team even when I am not playing 100%... To not let my performance affect my teammates.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Hawley is currently tied for first in her high school beach volleyball league, reflecting competitive success across multiple formats.   Next tournament: March 28, Local Bid Event   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='956150' first='Bryanna' last='Hanson'] showed measurable growth in emotional regulation, managing her mindset through both positive and challenging moments. Her ability to reset after errors and maintain composure in serve receive contributed to more stable play and allowed her to support teammates through communication and presence. The intentional work she has put into journaling and self-reflection is translating into improved in-game processing and consistency.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “After every game and every practice I will write down what I did well, what I need to improve, and how I will improve… and then I try my best to execute it.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Hanson has demonstrated strong academic commitment, earning all A's and two B's while managing learning challenges, reflecting discipline and perseverance.   Next tournament: Music City JNQ   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     [player_tooltip player_id='785868' first='Samiah' last='Bowie'] impacted play at the net with both scoring and blocking, including a sequence of consecutive blocks that shifted momentum against a high-level opponent. Her presence in the middle created pressure on both sides of the ball, and she showed the ability to contribute in key moments when her team needed points. Her offensive production and blocking timing reflected growing confidence in her role.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> “I will focus on improving my top coverage, making smart choices in my top kills, and working on my approach.” </blockquote>   Off the court, Bowie describes herself as family-oriented, valuing time with her siblings and enjoying time away from the game through personal interests.
