PrepDigAR High School Rankings: Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are in the preseason non conference phase of the high school season. With most schools having competed in their first games of the season, we can get an early look at some of the rankings. With some big games this week these rankings could easily change.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>1. Bentonville</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2. Cabot</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>3. Fayetteville</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>4. Southside</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>5. Valley View</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>10. Shiloh Christian</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Bentonville (6-1)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bentonville has had a great start to their season, winning the Early bird invitational tournament in Bentonville. They have played some strong competition so far with only having one loss to Cabot. Middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='749837' first='Evelyn' last='Venters'] has brought huge success for the tigers. This younger squad is legit and will definitely make a run in the post season state tournament. Sophomore pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='807740' first='Kennedy' last='Baber'] has also done a great job at filling the roll on the outside after bentonville lost both of their outsides from last season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Cabot (5-1)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cabot has a very strong offense ran by setters [player_tooltip player_id='535392' first='Mecate' last='Marsh'] and [player_tooltip player_id='547495' first='Olivia' last='Ambeau']. This is a majority older team as most of the attackers are seniors and Juniors. Outside hitter Candela Saz-Price has been bringing the energy for this panther team with her smart shots. Middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='743712' first='Madilyn' last='Lenox'] has also been a cannon out of the middle, almost always finding the court. This Cabot team only has one loss this season to Bentonville in the finals of the Early bird tournament. They did however beat Bentonville in pool play but since Bentonville won when it mattered, Cabot is sitting at #2 for now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. Fayetteville (1-1)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fayetteville is historically the most successful program in 6A volleyball within the last 20 years. Though they lost one of their strong pin hitters, the depth of their bench is filled with talent and they can easily put someone in who can get the job done. [player_tooltip player_id='411288' first='Piper' last='Batie'] is one of the most feared athletes in high school volleyball in the state of Arkansas and is someone who can take over any match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. Southside (2-0)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As this is almost a rebuild year for this team after losing a good portion of their varsity team last year, they have started off the year 2-0 against some good competition. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='751961' first='Julia' last='Suggs'] runs a great offense and has a very good connection with her Middle Blocker [player_tooltip player_id='841726' first='Aniya' last='Morris']. Morris does a great job at finding the court and can take over a match. Right side attacker [player_tooltip player_id='786631' first='Addison' last='Tharnish'] also does a great job at swinging over the block into the seams of the back row. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. Conway (5-2)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Though Conway lost a lot of their varsity team from last year, they are returning [player_tooltip player_id='769389' first='London' last='Cabantac'], [player_tooltip player_id='743705' first='Wren' last='Jones'], and [player_tooltip player_id='809882' first='Sylvia' last='King'] who were huge reasons as to why they won state last year. Though they have lost two games (Cabot and Greenwood) they have also won against some competitive teams like Bentonville West and Farmington. They are still trying to find what works for their rotations right now and is a school that typically peaks at the end of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
