Currently sitting at 1,500 career kills and counting, Zachariasen is the type of athlete who not only puts up staggering numbers but also raises the standard for everyone around her.   A two-time Gatorade South Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year, Zachariasen has been the driving force behind Harrisburg's back-to-back undefeated seasons and three straight Class AA state championships. Her offensive dominance — from a record-breaking 529-kill season to her ability to hit with efficiency against the toughest defenses — makes her one of the most feared outsides in the region. Add in her defensive consistency, serving pressure, and blocking presence, and you have a true six-rotation player who impacts every phase of the game. A First-Team All-State selection, Van Hal was instrumental in guiding the Chester Flyers to back-to-back Class B state championships. Her 2024 junior season showcased her all-around ability with 357 kills, 668 assists, 100 aces, 30 blocks, and 308 digs, numbers that show her impact goes far beyond traditional setting duties. Whether she's making a quick read to deliver a perfect ball, keeping opponents guessing with her attack, or stepping up in big defensive moments, she is the heartbeat of Chester's lineup.   Van Hal also hit the 1,000 career kill milestone while still in high school, showing her rare versatility as both a setter and a hitter. Let's not forget her 1500 digs as well. A true libero in every sense, Langner is the definition of reliability — stabilizing serve-receive, extending rallies with fearless digs, and applying pressure from the service line.   This season, she has already tallied 229 digs (2.6 per set) while leading Harrisburg in aces with 41, showcasing not only her defensive consistency but also her ability to flip momentum with aggressive serving. Her instincts in reading attackers set her apart, giving her team second-chance opportunities that often swing matches.   Langner leads by example. She doesn't need to be the loudest voice on the floor — her relentless hustle, steady composure, and competitive edge set the standard for her teammates. A six-rotation outside hitter with a relentless motor, she is the type of athlete every team leans on when the match is on the line. Her commitment is not only a reflection of her talent, but of her work ethic, consistency, and drive to excel at the highest level.   The numbers tell part of the story. Claire has already surpassed 1,400 career kills and is currently accounting for 1,100 career digs—a testament to both her offensive firepower and her defensive grit. In 2024, she was named Class A First-Team All-State, powering Dakota Valley with 557 kills (.318 hitting %), 393 digs, 51 aces, and 32 blocks. In the biggest matches, she rises higher—posting 31 kills and 25 digs in the 2024 State semifinal to help dethrone seven-time champion Sioux Falls Christian and send her team to the title match.   What makes Claire stand out isn't just the production—it's how she carries herself. A natural leader, she sets the tone with her effort, composure, and competitive fire.
