A six-rotation outside hitter with a relentless motor, she is the type of athlete every team leans on when the match is on the line. Claire has already surpassed 1,400 career kills and is currently accounting for 1,100 career digs—a testament to both her offensive firepower and her defensive grit. In 2024, she was named Class A First-Team All-State, powering Dakota Valley with 557 kills (.318 hitting %), 393 digs, 51 aces, and 32 blocks. In the biggest matches, she rises higher—posting 31 kills and 25 digs in the 2024 State semifinal to help dethrone seven-time champion Sioux Falls Christian and send her team to the title match.

All Tournament – USAV 17 American 

Munch is another 2026 playing up on the 17s team for MVP.  She preps at Dakota Valley High School in South Dakota where they are a state power, finishing 5th in Class A in 2023. Her approach to the ball is fast with her arm swing and hand contact being violent.  If the other side of the net is able to get a touch, it most likely isn’t staying in system.  She will be gearing up for a big junior season where she had over 350 kills as a sophomore.

Let’s complete the trifecta. Munch is listed as a right-side hitter but can get the job done at either pin. She spreads out the offense whenever 17 Red is in system, but Munch will also score when circumstances are not ideal. Her imposing length and physicality were a big part of MVP United ‘s exciting run through last month’s Great Plains Region Bid Tournament.
