Under The Radar 3A Stat Sheet Fillers

Today's edition talks about the next class down in size, 3A, and the kids that light up the stat sheet in a category or two. We found, through a ton of research, that every one of these players are available for the fall of their graduating class, and that they should be a nice addition to any program that wants them. The sophomore from West Noble, the #4 team in 3A at the moment, is averaging nearly 6 kills per set this season, while owning the responsibility of being a six-rotation outside. As the libero, you are literally wearing a jersey that forces you to stick out among your peers, all while every minor glitch is amplified. Those glitches seem to not exist when watching Hannah play. Her Ignite Elite training has emphasized one fact—-she can do everything WELL. She's closing in on 2000 career assists, but has another stat that allows her to score points on her own. At nearly 2 aces per set, she's deadly behind the service line, directly helping her squad by taking the pressure off of her hitters. Here's some more fun stats: her career includes 700 digs, 300 kills and 400 aces, and counting. She hits a high-and-deep ball to the corners regularly, and understands the assignment when blocking. In her ONLY varsity season this year (her senior year), she's earned over a block per set, directly influencing opposing hitters into thinking twice about going her way. Mya will be a diamond-in-the-rough steal for anyone looking for a natural athlete that is WELL under the recruiting radar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HONORABLE MENTIONS:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I got a chance to watch <strong>Caylee Brown</strong> first-hand at their match against Mooresville on Monday. In her only set of play, her high level of efficiency was punctuated by her constant ability to be available to hit regardless of where the ball was passed. One of the more efficient middles in the state, her career hitting percentage is north of .350, while hitting over .400 this fall as a 5'10” middle. Probably meant for recruitment at a smaller school, Caylee will be a steal for anyone looking for a solid M2 with efficiency and quickness.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><b>Li</b><strong>ly Rockhold,</strong> a junior 5'10” hybrid attacker from Frankfort, has length for days and certainly plays bigger than her frame might otherwise suggest. In the middle, she jumps high enough on zero tempo balls that her setter undersets her—-leading me to believe that she's a leaper. On higher tempo balls on the pins, she hits with pace and direction, and on more than one occasion hammered defenders and forced defenders into shanks. Lily is a physical hitter, and shows it in her nearly 1000 career kills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kaylee Gaar </strong>of Garrett is an impressive libero who currently holds the #3 spot in digs for all of 3A. Add to that fact that she's just a freshman should emphasize how special she is at her craft, and the maturity she brings to the position. A leader-by-example type of player, Kaylee is currently averaging nearly 6 digs per set for the 15-5 Railroaders.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
