Weekday Workhorses To Watch

With a few high school mid week games observed this week before we head over to Louisville's LIVT we are taking note of some Freshman who have splashed onto the scene in a big way, and who we think will be making an impact down the road, and to those true and tested players who carry the load on a weekly basis!    Noelle is a workhorse! She is strong, committed and brings her best to the court. She can, has, would and could carry any team! She has a powerful swing from either pin that can get deep into the corners, she will smartly tip down the line and gets up for the block displaying good timing and technique. She is a is a presence on the court and fits on the Varsity team with her honed skills and energetic committed play! We've seen her play a few positions and she brings all her talent to each one blocking, or swinging which she does with great technique, a fast arm and explosive strong release with excellent contact that gets through the block. Noelle can dig the ball up to keep the play going, serves aces and is all in with great court IQ to help her teammates covering the front line well. She is enthusiastic on the court, celebrates her teammates and shows a true passion for the game on and off the court! She is the player you want in the fifth set on the court! She is an athlete that's got all the game!     Clarke plays with the utmost confidence for her varsity team even though she is a freshman! She brings a lot to the court with excellent hands and posture to make a variety of accurate sets with good decision making! She utilizes all of her front line well and can set equally well to either pin, middle, tight to the net or off of it. Her backset is smooth and she is fast to position herself on the court, she has good communication and plays well with all rotations. She has a ton of versatility with a great swing with nice mechanics, good timing and vertical on the block and can dig like no tomorrow with fast reflexes and good court IQ, not to mention she can pull out aces on her serve to complete her toolbox. We absolutely loved all aspects of her play, she stands out!     Gabby is a left handed workhorse! She brings her game, she is powerful and a gamechanger on the court. Gabby eats up the court with her size, strength and her enthusiastic play! She is all in and it shows in every set! She gives herself plenty of room for her powerful attack releasing a huge left-handed swing with excellent contact and downward trajectory. She can bring the opposing backrow to their knees from that hefty swing, but she can also dial it back and tip as stealthily as it gets for the point with excellent ball control and placement hitting the seams. We loved that she came with a raging attack, got blocked and came right back with another beautiful raging successful attack holding nothing back, relentless and devout. She is confident in her play with excellent form & vertical on her block, solo or in pairs. She yells for that ball and wants every chance to make it happen, all the while she supports her teammates, covers well and has the reflexes to get one up off the block. She shows great court IQ with absolute hunger to make plays happen and is blazing a successful path for herself forward! Not a single doubt she won't get there!     Amelia holds down the back court like a seasoned pro for a freshman. She is calm, cool and collected on the court but super effective at getting those balls up and accurately to the front row. She has a solid platform with textbook technique to soften those hard shots returning some solid hits while keeping composed, showing great control and producing perfect shoulder angels to deliver to the second contact. She can dig for those short serves and is moving her feet well in advance of the play, readily moving following and backward and anticipating the opposition well. She communicates well with her teammates and can serve up balls to gain points showing her acquiring skill set. We love her demeanor on the court with calm, confident play showing great communication and enthusiasm. She will be one to keep tabs on for what looks to be a bright future! We are impressed already!     Audrey is a weapon and it is no secret! With an explosive lofty vertical releasing a fast lethal swing she racks up the points for her team and is a major player! She has superb ball control with excellent contact that comes from a great loading attack with perfect text book arm swing and footwork to propel her to beautiful heights and get on top of those balls to make plentiful kills! She can place those balls just beyond the ten foot line to find the seam, or deep down the line repeatedly and effectively from either pin! Her back row attack is a thing of beauty and forces the opposition to the back court! She is an exciting player to watch giving it her all on the court, digging wholeheartedly with excellent court IQ and enthusiasm. Her serves are mean and her play is strong, she is well supported by her teammates and reciprocates to them! Not enough words for this player! Absolute stud!     Lexi completes a strong frontline for her team but by no means cannot stand alone! She brings a consistently strong play with loads of talent and skill to the table in her own right! With strong play from either pin, we loved how Lexi performed, playing confidently and consistently making hits and kills. She has great ball control to get those balls between the blockers and has an excellent vertical to help her do so with a nice downward kill from an effective snap. She is strong from either pin and gives herself plenty of room for a big attack with good impulsion and vertical, which she displayed blocking also with good reach. She can play a ball off the net with fast reflexes providing good cover for the block, and can dig a ball up to keep the play alive. Lexi easily positions herself on the pin and doesn't need the perfect swing to fire and showed off some beautiful cross court hits swinging confidently and accurately. She will be one to watch closely, she is already leaving her mark! Exciting future for her!
