With standout performances and impressive records, the rankings not only highlight the best teams but also the individual athletes making significant impacts on the court. From powerhouse programs like the St. Vincent Indians, who have maintained their dominance, to emerging contenders ready to challenge the status quo, this season promises thrilling matchups and unforgettable moments. As we explore the details of each team's journey, it becomes clear that every match matters in the race for the coveted state championship.

1. St. Vincent Indians 20-6-2

The Indians remain at the top of my rankings for Class 2 after defeating the second-best team in Class 2, Valle Catholic, 3-0. In the win, St. Vincent got 10 kills from [player_tooltip player_id='831247' first='Clara' last='Clifton'] and will finish the season with a game against Class 1-ranked Leopold.

2. Valle Catholic Warriors 24-5-1

Now that the Warriors are in Class 2, they are placed in the same district as St. Vincent. So, one of my top two teams in Class 2 won't advance past districts. [player_tooltip player_id='827056' first='Lexie' last='Rayoum'] and [player_tooltip player_id='790958' first='Ada' last='Bley'] from 2027 have a combined 521 kills. They end the season in the MAAA Conference Tournament.

3. Miller Cardinals 22-4-1

Miller has four losses, two to Class 1 Winona, but since then, they have gone 18-2-1 after the opening weekend. Miller hasn't faced much trouble with district opponents and should be able to win another district title. [player_tooltip player_id='490143' first='Camden' last='Stockton'] and Layni Johnson are leaders in assists and digs.

4. Hermann Bearcats 13-12-2

Hermann should have no trouble winning another district championship after facing their challenging schedule each season. With Borgia as the only remaining obstacle, Hermann is likely to pass through districts unscathed. 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='702778' first='Ashlyn' last='Hughes'], Jillian Fredrick, Kealie Lane, and Jaelee Kahler aim to make another run to the final four.

5. Butler Bears 26-1-2

With only one loss this season, Pleasant Hill secured a 1-2 victory over the Bears, but the district competition will be tough. A major challenge will come from Adrian in the district tournament, as the Bears previously won 3-2 while getting 49 combined kills from 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='485567' first='Tandee' last='Hiser'] and [player_tooltip player_id='809963' first='Kylee' last='Dubray'].

6. Fatima Comets 21-6-1

Fatima lost three times at the Lebanon Tournament, and it will benefit them in the district competition. Cole Camp, the two-seed in their district, could present challenges. [player_tooltip player_id='828140' first='Alayna' last='Backes'] has 331 kills, and Lily Kempker has 626 assists, making them the team leaders.

7. Lawson Cardinals 22-5-2

Another team that experienced three losses in a weekend tournament would be this Cardinals team. However, losing to Class 3 teams Chillicothe, Maryville, and Odessa isn't bad, and a 3-2 victory over Mid-Buchanan was significant. 2027s [player_tooltip player_id='842829' first='Izzy' last='Slominski'] and Maci McAtee combined for 26 kills in that win.

8. Adrian Blackhawks 20-6-1

Adrian has losses to Butler, Pleasant Hill, Helias, Pembroke Hill, Bishop LeBlond, and Odessa, all teams experiencing strong seasons. The five-set loss to district rival Butler was intense, and if both teams reach the finals, it will be another exciting match. In that game, 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='237005' first='Olivia' last='Engeman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='835010' first='Lizzie' last='Clifton'] combined for 47 kills.

9. New Covenant Academy Warriors 22-4-3

The Warriors took Miller to the brink of defeat but lost in the fifth set 12-15. In the loss, 2026 Addison Cuquet had 13 kills, 2029 Kiera Edwards had 11 kills, and Tina Voznyarska had ten kills. If NCA wants to win the district title, they will have to beat Spokane again, and the last game was a 3-2 barn burner.

10. Cole Camp Bluebirds 23-2-3

Cole Camp is having a strong season and recently secured a 3-2 victory over California, helping them stay in the rankings. A weekend tournament at Versailles will be a great way to prepare for the playoffs. 6'0” [player_tooltip player_id='809509' first='Andrea' last='Dieckman'] is a powerhouse in the middle, with 259 kills this season.
