There's something special about watching a freshman setter take the court for the first time. The nerves, the adrenaline, the responsibility of running an offense — it's a lot for any player, especially at this age. But for the group of young setters we're watching this season, it's exactly the challenge that fuels them. They're stepping up with confidence, showing poise under pressure, and making plays that leave teammates and spectators alike impressed.
These freshmen are not just learning the game — they're leading it. Each set they deliver, each decision at the net, and each quick adjustment they make shows growth, grit, and a willingness to embrace the hard moments. Their ability to control the tempo, find hitters in rhythm, and keep the offense moving makes them players to watch this season. It's thrilling to see these young athletes rise to the occasion, proving that leadership and talent aren't just reserved for the upperclassmen. This group of freshman setters is proving they have what it takes to make an immediate impact.

is a freshman already making waves with her rare combination of size, skill, and versatility. Standing 5'11”, she commands the court with quick movements, precise hands, and the ability to run a fast-paced offense with confidence. Rivero's setter instincts are elite for her age — she delivers hitters in perfect rhythm while reading blockers and defenders to maximize every opportunity. Beyond her technical skill, she brings leadership and composure, guiding teammates through tense moments with poise. And if needed, she can slide into the right-side hitting role, giving her team a dynamic weapon at both the net and the back row.
