The Division 3 regional tournaments may be the most balanced of any division.

Each group has a team that looks to be the leader, but some very talented and game contenders looking to unseat them.

Here's a breakdown of the eight D3 regional brackets.

Regional 17 at Newberry

Semifinals: Painesdale Jeffers vs. Manistique; Johannesburg-Lewiston vs. TC St. Francis

Breakdown: TC St. Francis has finished runner-up the last two years, and this is a veteran squad that won't be rattled during pressure situations this week. Jeffers, Manistique, and Johannesburg-Lewiston have put together some nice wins, but they haven't tested themselves as much as the Gladiators have this fall.

Finals Prediction: TC St. Francis over Painesdale Jeffers

Regional 18 at Houghton Lake

Semifinals: Roscommon vs. Kingsley; Beal City vs. Breckenridge

Breakdown: A lot of scrappy teams in this regional. Top-ranked Roscommon has a lot of big arms to work with, but the Bucks draw third-ranked Kingsley in the regional semifinal. This should be a great match with a lot of big kills, but the Bucks seem to have too many options to come up short. Beal City and Breckenridge are a pair of 30-win programs as well, so they should have their match come down to just a few points. Both semifinals feel like they could go either way.

Finals Prediction: Roscommon over Beal City

Regional 19 at White Cloud

Semifinals: Calvin Christian vs. North Muskegon; Morley-Stanwood vs. Pewamo-Westphalia

Breakdown: North Muskegon has been up against a lot of ranked teams in multiple divisions, and it should help it against Calvin Christian, which is pretty battle-tested in its own right. Pewamo-Westphalia isn't far removed from a state championship and the Pirates have been a perennial regional winner. Morley-Stanwood is going to give the Pirates all they can handle. The Mohawks have shown they can beat anyone, so P-W will have to be on its game to advance.

Finals Prediction: P-W over North Muskegon

Regional 20 at Centreville

Semifinals: Kalamazoo Christian vs. Bangor; Constantine vs. Bronson

Breakdown: Kalamazoo Christian is ranked No. 6 and has been a fixture in Battle Creek the last three years. It will be tough to get them out of the tournament, but Bronson feels like it has a shot behind their dominant player, [player_tooltip player_id='490361' first='Aleah' last='Brackett']. She's pushing for 700 kills this fall, which isn't something you see often in any division. Bangor and Constantine will do their best to play spoiler, but it feels like Bronson and KZoo Christian are destined to collide again.

Finals Prediction: Kalamazoo Christian over Bronson

Regional 21 at Clinton

Semifinals: Hanover-Horton vs. Jackson Lumen Christi; Grass Lake vs. SMCC

Breakdown: The defending state champions. No. 5 SMCC could have its hands full this week as No. 4 Hanover-Horton sits on the other side of the bracket. The Comets haven't had many losses this season, but the Kestrels were one of them. Still, both need to bring their best in the semifinals, as Lumen Christi and Grass Lake are going to be playing with nothing to lose. Should it come down to the ranked teams in the final, it's hard to overlook SMCC's history of postseason success.

Finals Prediction: SMCC over Hanover-Horton

Regional 22 at Plymouth Christian

Semifinals: GP Woods University Liggett vs. Plymouth Christian; Riverview Gabriel Richard vs. Royal Oak Shrine

Breakdown: PCA is the top-ranked team in the region, sitting at No. 2, and PCA gets the home-court advantage. That is a big advantage as well. The hitting of Plymouth Christian is going to be tough for Liggett, Garbriel Richard, and Shrine to deal with. Shrine has played a really tough schedule, which should have it ready to get past Richard, but it will take the absolute best Shrine has to top PCA on the road.

Finals Prediction: PCA over Shrine

Regional 23 at Millington

Semifinals: Brown City vs. Lutheran Northwest; Otisville LakeVille Memorial vs. Cass City

Breakdown: Cass City has been another fixture in Battle Creek, and it is very motivated to get past the semifinal point is has been stopped at in recent years. This group isn't as experienced, but still has a lot of top-level potential. Lutheran Northwest has some experience, and some power at the net, along with some talented defenders. LakeVille and Brown City looked great last week, but their semifinal opponents look to have too much firepower for them.

Finals Prediction: Cass City over Lutheran Northwest

Regional 24 at Montrose

Semifinals: Reese vs. Bath; Valley Lutheran vs. Byron

Breakdown: This should be a really good regional. Reese and Bath probably feel somewhat overlooked, and both play in competitive conferences that should have them ready to grind out a five-set win if that is what it takes. Valley Lutheran is ranked No. 9 and has a great balance across the board, led by a talented veteran setter in junior [player_tooltip player_id='523865' first='Kate' last='Belt']. Valley Lutheran also has the defense to extend rallies thanks to junior [player_tooltip player_id='442983' first='Hayden' last='Sherman']. That should allow it to get past a challenging Byron squad and then be ready for whatever may come in the final.

Finals Prediction: Valley Lutheran over Bath
