<p>The 2025 postseason is kicking off this week, so we continue to look back at which players had the most impact during the fall.</p>

<p>Here's a look at the senior defenders that have stepped up and put together the most digs (stats through MaxPreps) this fall.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='586773' first='Kianna' last='McKinney'], Adrian Madison</strong></h2>

<p>McKinney put up an incredible total as a junior, but has far surpassed that as a senior with <strong>843 digs</strong>. She's averaging over 7 per set. Most recently, McKinney had 41 digs in a five-set win over Dundee.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='794057' first='Gentry' last='Knop'], Montague</strong></h2>

<p>This senior had her best season to date, putting up <strong>616 digs</strong> while passing 1,000 for her career. Her season high was 36 digs in a four-set match with Whitehall late in September.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='802879' first='Maren' last='Debeau'], Coldwater</strong></h2>

<p>DeBeau has been consistent with her play for Coldwater over the years, but has a career-high for digs in a season with <strong>569 digs </strong>in 2025. She just recently surpassed 1,500 career digs as well.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='801458' first='Claire' last='Ponzio'], Utica</strong></h2>

<p>Ponzio pushed herself past 1,000 digs in her career recently thanks to a 2025 season that has saw her amass <strong>560 digs. </strong>Her season-high was an impressive 48 digs in a five set battle with Grosse Pointe North late in October.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='800997' first='Ari' last='Bryant'], Cadillac</strong></h2>

<p>Bryant has been putting in a lot of effort for Cadillac this fall, as she has recorded <strong>546 digs </strong>during the fall season. She's just past 1,400 digs in her career and Bryant had 30 digs in a five-set win over Traverse City Central in September.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='791537' first='Amaya' last='Lathrop'], Newaygo</strong></h2>

<p>Lathrop has really taken her game to another level these last two seasons. She's put up <strong>546 digs </strong>this fall as a senior and is over 1,300 for her career. Lathrop tallied her season-high early in the year, with 33 digs in a five-set win over Grant.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='795018' first='Jordyn' last='St. John'], Marshall</strong></h2>

<p>Marshall has been utilizing young players in key areas, but one senior leader is St. John, who has put up <strong>540 digs </strong>as the libero of the team. Her peak outing was a 26-dig performance in a four-set win over Bronson in early October.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='226910' first='Kayla' last='Ostrander'], Utica Eisenhower</strong></h2>

<p>Ostrander has been a foundational piece for Eisenhower for years and consistently is among the dig leaders in the state. She has <strong>532 digs </strong>this fall as she is over 1,800 digs in her career. Her top match this fall was a 35-dig outing in a four-set win over Grosse Pointe South.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='237538' first='Annalise' last='Clark'], Lowell</strong></h2>

<p>Clark will go down as an all-time great at Lowell, as she is over 1,800 digs in her career. That include <strong>512 digs </strong>in the 2025 season while playing against a lot of top competition. Clark has put up 11 digs or more in 17 of her last 18 matches.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Suzanne Smigielski, Ubly</strong></h2>

<p>The Bearcats are having a strong year thanks to the play of Smigielski, who sits at <strong>481 digs </strong>during the fall season. Her season started off on a strong note with 28 digs in a three-set sweep of Brown City.</p>
