Setters and Opposites Rise to the Moment

Every showcase tells a story about growth, and this one belonged to the players stepping into new roles and showing what they're ready for next. These setters and opposites took the court ready to adjust, connect, and compete. They handled new teammates, different tempos, and fast-paced systems with composure. She has been learning the craft through feedback and repetition, eager to prove that she can excel beyond her previous middle position. The showcase gave her a chance to do exactly that. “I've been working on being coachable and taking in the information that coaches give me,” she said. Her focus on listening and adapting quickly allowed her to handle new challenges with confidence.   Kaloni's goal this season is to use her voice and energy to lift her team in competitive moments. She knows communication and positivity are just as important as technique. “I want to be more loud on the court and cheer on my teammates,” she shared. Her steady confidence and team-first mindset make her a valuable connector on any roster. Fun fact: She enjoys collecting things like dolls and figurines. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247       Dina plays with an upbeat, calm energy that steadies everyone around her. She's been working on her mindset, focusing on resetting quickly after every point so she can stay present and play her best. “I've been focused on improving my mindset and moving on to the next point,” she said. At the showcase, she embraced new rhythms and teammates with a smile, learning from every rally while keeping her energy positive.   For Dina, growth is about attitude as much as skill. “I want coaches and other players to remember that I'm a positive person,” she said. That simple message sums up her entire approach to the game. She's coachable, composed, and willing to learn from every situation that comes her way. Fun fact: She was born in American Samoa and moved to the United States when she was two. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247       Renee brings energy and creativity to the court, constantly finding ways to make the game fun while still refining her technique. She's been focused on perfecting her jump set and learning to disguise her intentions to keep blockers guessing. “I've been working to perfect my jump set and get the reps I need,” she said. During the showcase, she kept a consistent voice on the court, showing leadership through communication and teamwork.   Her mindset revolves around staying active and engaged in every point. “I want them to see that I'm an all-around player,” she said. Renee's combination of positivity and competitiveness makes her stand out, especially in moments that demand quick decision-making. Fun fact: She started her volleyball journey as a libero before discovering her love for setting. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247       Tatiana is building a game grounded in calm, clarity, and control. She's focused on improving consistency during fast rallies and sharpening her connection with hitters so she can keep the offense moving. “I've been working hard on improving my setting consistency, especially during fast-paced rallies,” she said. The showcase pushed her to lead under pressure, and she responded with precision and poise.   Leadership comes naturally to her. “I stay calm, I problem solve, and I keep the team moving forward,” she shared. Tatiana wants coaches to see that she can manage the moment and make smart choices when the match gets tight. Off the court, her passion for learning mirrors her drive to improve as an athlete.
