Top Class 1 Volleyball Players of the Season

This season has been a remarkable one for Class 1 volleyball, showcasing an impressive array of talent and athleticism. Here's a look at my picks for the top players, each of whom has made significant contributions to their high school teams and excelled statistically across the state. These ten athletes not only demonstrate exceptional skill on the court but also embody the spirit of competition that defines small-town Class 1 volleyball. Enjoy my selections of the standout players this season!    Standing at 5'11", Rylie possesses the height and versatility needed for the next level. Her ability to excel in various positions makes her an invaluable asset.   She led the state in kills with 672, maintained a .280 hitting percentage, and contributed 283 digs while serving as the team's primary passer. Rylie is a dynamic pin hitter who combines athleticism with solid defensive skills, making her ready for the next level.     The 5'11" southpaw played a crucial role in leading Archie to a standout season, finishing with a record of 25-5-1 and clinching a district title.   In the sectional loss to Liberal, Reagan showcased her prowess with 43 kills, hitting .266, along with seven blocks and 13 digs. With 1,105 career kills, she looks to add even more in her final season. Move Reagan to the opposite pin, and she will be unstoppable for a next-level team.     Taylor's career at Winona has been nothing short of impressive, highlighted by three trips to the Final Four, including a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place finish.   She leaves with an outstanding .411 hitting percentage, totaling 549 kills and 329 digs this season. Her growth from her first year to her final season showcases her dedication and skill.     As one of the top two volleyball players in Galena's history, Melanie has left a lasting impact on the program.   The 5'7" outside hitter was a four-year starter and helped guide Galena to its only Final Four appearance two seasons ago. She wrapped up this season with 494 kills and 404 digs.       Emma has excelled as an undersized outside hitter for Advance, playing out of position throughout her career.   She leaves her school with two state titles and a runner-up finish, amassing 674 kills and 1,474 digs. Her potential to transition to a libero role at the next level will benefit her and any team that recruits her.     A pivotal player in resurrecting Bismarck's volleyball program, Ashley helped lead the team to its first state championship and only its second Final Four appearance.   She graduates with 1,587 career kills and 1,315 digs. In the championship match, despite a quieter offensive performance, Ashley delivered a stellar defensive display, recording 28 digs to secure the title for Bismarck.     Another standout from Winona, Lexi has been a sensational setter, contributing to the team's impressive finishes at state with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for her career.   She leaves with a remarkable 4,246 career assists, making her the MSHSAA all-time assist leader, solidifying her legacy in the program.     Kinsey has been a steady and reliable presence for Bismarck, consistently feeding the ball to her big hitters in crucial moments.   Although she may not have always received the recognition she deserves, her contributions are undeniable. Kinsey leaves the program with 2,046 assists, and her role in securing the state title cements her status as one of the best setters in the program's history.     Leopold is excited to welcome back Ashtyn Vandeven, one of Class 1's top setters, next season.   Ashtyn has been the driving force behind the Wildcats' offense since day one, showcasing her exceptional skills and court awareness.   With 2,646 career assists, she has solidified her status as one of the best setters in Class 1, and her future at the next level looks incredibly promising.     Jadyn leaves the Osceola program as the all-time leader in digs, amassing an impressive 2,360 career digs.   This tiny but mighty libero has demonstrated incredible defensive skills and top-notch passing, making her a standout player.   Jadyn's tenacity and ability to read the game will undoubtedly pave the way for a successful career at the next level.
