Junior Stars and Senior Studs

This group of pins for the 4A division was filled with seniors who served as leaders in their division, along with several underclassmen who are beginning their ascent to stardom. Their talent, work-ethic, and competitive mentalities have positioned them for continued success as athletes in the future.   First Team    As a junior for Green Canyon, [player_tooltip player_id='896261' first='Avery' last='Fauth'] posted 255 kills, hit a .293%, and had 42 blocks. She is an athletic, left-handed rightside who dominates the net on offense and defense. With her return next year, the Wolves are sure to dominate again.     Neveah Magaleli from Provo totaled 578 kills, hit a .205%, had 383 digs, and 214 assists. Despite being on the shorter end as an outside, she doesn't let that dictate the narrative. She elevates well, swings high, and can score in various ways with confidence. As a libero, her speed and dynamic abilities allow her to dig tough balls, pick up off-speed shots with ease, and chase any ball down. She is a stable passer in serve receive and has a collected, levelheadedness about her playing style.     As Desert Hills was crowned the 4A state champion this year, [player_tooltip player_id='846097' first='Presley' last='Decker'] also earned her First Team title. In her final season with the Thunder, Presley posted 306 kills, hit a .163%, had 307 digs, and 44 blocks. She is also a left-handed right side who has good power to drive through blocks and put a hard stop on outsides.     [player_tooltip player_id='805703' first='Haven' last='Michaelis'] posted 346 kills, hit an efficient .326, and had 148 digs in her junior season for the Tigers. She has a whippy arm swing and an explosive, fluid approach that sets her up to score. She swings high, hits hard, and continually learns as the game goes on.    Second Team    [player_tooltip player_id='804968' first='Brynlie' last='Cornia'] totaled 296 kills, hit a .229%, and had 152 digs in her last season with Ridgeline. Her athleticism and dynamic abilities help establish her as a force at the net. She is a steady passer and a solid defender, which makes her a reliable 6-rotation outside.     Even though this is not her dominant position, [player_tooltip player_id='894182' first='Tali' last='Tupe'], you would not think that watching her. Despite her being 5'6, she plays big. In her freshman season with the Warriors, she posted 466 kills, ranking #11 overall, and had 335 digs. She swings, is a strong passer, and plays solid defense.     [player_tooltip player_id='532736' first='Audrey' last='White'] ended her junior season with 175 kills and hit a .302%. She has solid range and packs a lot of power behind her swing. She plays with good energy and passion that helps ignite her team in the right moments.    Third Team    [player_tooltip player_id='826546' first='Jessica' last='Openshaw'] finished off her sophomore champion season with 235 kills, hit a .134%, and had 308 digs. She elevates well, swings high, and is a scrappy defender. Overall, she is an athlete I am excited to see progress over the next few seasons.     From what stats were reported, [player_tooltip player_id='827730' first='Sabine' last='Smith'] had 364 kills, hit a .296%, and had 172 digs with the Miners. She is one of those athletes who is "undersized" but uses that to her advantage. Sabine knows when to tool, swing high and deep, but also can detonate a ball. She elevates easily, is a steady passer, and plays good defense.     Madi Scott from Orem had 330 kills, hit a .252%, and had 259 digs in her sophomore season. Playing sand has helped develop her craftiness at the net and her court vision. She has good power and solid ball control that makes me excited to watch her for this club season.    Honorable Mention    [player_tooltip player_id='806119' first='Keilani' last='Wesley'] finished off her junior season with 281 kills, hit a .201%, and had 167 digs. She has an explosive last two steps that help her elevate easily and score off, around, and through blocks. She plays solid defense and has very strong technique and mechanics as a passer.    I did not get the chance to see these players in action this high school season, but the magnitude of these awards does not deserve to go unrecognized!
