'29 and '30 Impact Players That Should Already Be On Your Radar

As the season progresses, there are a couple of athletes in these classes that should already be on your radar. Their athleticism, power, and precision in their respective positions establish them as impact players for their teams this season. Each player brings a unique presence to the court, but all share the ability to influence momentum, elevate their teammates, and consistently perform in pivotal moments. As the competition intensifies and the goal to qualify becomes more pressing, their roles on their teams will continue to magnify their impact throughout the rest of the season.    [player_tooltip player_id='894187' first='Chevelle' last='Peters'] is all-around, solid outside. She maintains great ball control as a defender, passes with ease, and is a crafty scorer. She can swing hard in system while also mixing in intentional, precise off-speed shots to corners, campfire, and sharp angles. Her next point mentality keeps her grounded and focused to make the right play whenever the ball comes her way, whether that's a pass, dig, or attack from the front or back row.   One area Chevelle is continuing to work on is expanding her range as an attacker, adding more tools to her game. Her coach praises her coachable attitude, receptiveness to feedback, and ability to keep her movements simple and efficient, traits that continue elevate her impact on the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='950061' first='Lexi' last='Carter'] continues to be a showstopper in her class. Her coach compliments her high-energy attitude, volleyball IQ, and work ethic that keeps her team competitive and engaged.   As a libero, she tracks quickly off the server's hand and creates strong angles whether she is pushed deep or short. What stands out the most to me is her defensive eye work and anticipation. Lexi is getting even better at reading plays before they happen. In the tournament I watched her play in, she did not get beat by a setter dump once and often looked like she was expecting it before the setter even made the move. She communicates constantly during rallies and gives cues to her hitters and other defenders to help them adjust and create better plays on the ball. Lexi makes clean touches off hard-driven attacks, hustles down off-speed shots, and will chase any shank off the court.   Lexi is continuing to work on expanding her defensive range and refining her ability to take positive steps toward the ball.     Farah Lloyd is a up and coming outside for the 2030 class. Her height and power as a pin give her the advantage at her age. Her ability to swing high in the seams or around blocks has only continued to grow this club season showing her growing confidence and range as an attacker. Playing up an age group this year has pushed her to expand her offensive tools and elevate her competitive drive. Although she is on the quieter side, her coach still praises her ability to be coachable and willing to make adjustments in the moment.     [player_tooltip player_id='950074' first='Tess' last='Pratt'] is always an athlete I love to catch in action. Not only does she consistently perform at a high-level, but her leadership is also something that makes her standout.   Tess is the kind of player you can put anywhere on the court and trust she will do well. While her primary position is a setter, she is more than capable of lining up as an outside and making an impact. Running a 5-1 this season has showed that she can make the right decisions in the moment and never forces a play that isn't there. Her range and finesse as a setter are continuing to expand and develop, which has been exciting to see in person. She contributes across the board with her ability to block, defend, and put a ball away when she is set. Tess is always searching for ways to elevate her game and improve every time she steps on the court.     If you don't have [player_tooltip player_id='894182' first='Tali' last='Tupe'] on your radar yet, now is the time. She is an athletic, high-energy player with great foot speed and efficient, simple movements to the ball that make everything she does look easy. Whether she is in serve receive, defending in left or middle back, or transitioning to attack, Tali plays with control, precision, and composure.   She passes with the right angles with efficient footwork to keep the ball in front of her, picks up tips and rolls with ease, and controls hard-driven balls that come her way. Even though she is only 5'6, she shows no problem stepping in the lineup and competing as an outside or running the court as a libero. She swings high to score in the seams, around blocks, or with intention off of hands.     [player_tooltip player_id='950069' first='Sophia' last='Thorn']'s jumping abilities and power as a pin help elevate her team's offense and overall attacking presence. In the match I saw her play in, she did a great job of getting her feet to the ball and swinging with power into the seams of defenders or over the top of blocks. Her explosiveness and ability to score in system make her a tough matchup on the outside. As she continues to develop, her abilities as an outside are only going to continue to grow.     [player_tooltip player_id='894184' first='Lexi' last='Rushton'] is always a player who will continue to improve because of her work ethic and competitive nature. A specific area I think she has really improved in is her ability to tool blocks confidently. When it's a tight or off set, she uses the set to score high off the blocker's hands instead of trying to save or manage the ball.   Another aspect she is continuing to grow in is her ability to read the block. Lexi is adjusting her swings with pace and direction when she sees holes in the defense. In several of the matches I saw her play in, she did a great job of executing and scoring down the line or into the angle, depending on what the block was giving her. Her awareness as an attacker is not only continuing to elevate her as a player, but also her team's offensive abilities.
