<p><strong>18 Pink</strong></p>

<p>This team has three seniors on it with the other seven returning to the respective high school teams in the fall. Those three seniors are Allen County-Scottsville outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='832131' first='Faith' last='Schaberg'], Glasgow defensive specialist Audra Austin and Barren County defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='849202' first='Josey' last='Moore'].</p>

<p>Russell County junior Maribelle Devore will play defensive specialist and outside hitter with Glasgow sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='778295' first='Aubree' last='Norris'] and Russell County junior [player_tooltip player_id='778285' first='Madelyn' last='Roy'] setting. Roy also plays right side hitter. Cumberland County sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='826840' first='Kennedy' last='England'], Barren County junior Adrienne Mitchell and Allen County-Scottsville junior [player_tooltip player_id='535195' first='Lily' last='Cook'] will play in the middle with Russell County junior Piper Garmon playing both middle and right side hitter.</p>

<p>The head coach is Sarah Roy. The team plays in the Lexington Open on Saturday.</p>

<p><strong>17 Pink</strong></p>

<p>This team is pretty much the same as last year's 16 Pink team minus one player. The new one is Green County sophomore Dayni Coffey.</p>

<p>All but three players helped the Metcalfe County Hornets go 21-12 and win the first All "A" 4th Region Tournament in program history. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='778592' first='Amelia' last='Slinker'] starts things with first touches to setters [player_tooltip player_id='882581' first='Ellie' last='Landrum'] and [player_tooltip player_id='760764' first='Harper' last='Hurt']. Outside hitters Lily-Ann Horton and [player_tooltip player_id='535198' first='Mollie' last='Devore'] led the team in kills and Alivia Acree gives the team swings from the middle.</p>

<p>Two middle blockers round out the roster in Barren County's [player_tooltip player_id='930499' first='Reagan' last='Griffiths'] and Allen County-Scottsville's [player_tooltip player_id='811158' first='Ashlyn' last='Meador']. Griffiths nearly had 100 kills on the season and Meador played in 34 games for the Patriots.</p>

<p>Club Director Josh Devore leads the team. The team opens the season Saturday in the Lexington Open in the 17/18 Division.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Devore does whatever it takes to help Metcalfe County win. She comes out of nowhere to make pancake digs, thus keeping plays alive, then can quickly transition to offense. Devore can handle tough crosses. Devore has good placement on her swings. She can send roll shots down the line or execute crosses on go routes. Devore had 325 kills and 336 digs to help Metcalfe County go 21-12 on the season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Horton is a sound all-around player for the Hornets. Horton takes sound swings at all six spots on the court. She executes tandems well and hits balls off blockers for big points. Horton can even roll balls over blockers to the doughnut when it opens up. Hornet is also a sound passer for the Hornets.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Griffiths gives Barren County sound play in the front row. Griffiths has good technique and follows through to put balls down. She especially executes on ones and nines. Griffiths has a good technique to at least get hands on blocks. She had 99 kills and 21 blocks for Barren County in the fall.</p>

<p>Norris played a key role in helping improve Glasgow's win total by seven games from 2024 in the fall. Norris continued to find different ways to put sets on target to her hitters so they could take powerful swings. She can do a variety of long and short sets. She makes sound touches then quickly gets in her defensive position for the Scotties. Norris had 508 assists, 168 digs and 40 aces in the fall, helping Glasgow go 17-14 on the season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Roy (pictured) defines the word versatile on the court. Roy makes precise passes then quickly transitions to offense. She takes sound swings and runs the offense effectively. Roy involves a number of hitters so teams can't focus on one player. Roy is also a sound server. Roy had 454 assists, 330 digs and 73 aces in the fall, helping the Lakers go 24-12.</p>
