Confidence, Charisma, and Consistency Shine at Resolution

This weekend was an absolute blast. It was fun to be back on the court. And while there were a lot of first weekend hiccups and nerves on the court, there was also joy, competitiveness, and a lot of grit. I know for certain I cannot wait to see what a few more months of intense competition and practice sharpen these talented teams into. Let's take a look at athletes who came into the tournament and hit the ground running.

Raya was a competitor and leader on the court this weekend. Her mental game was incredibly strong. She played with her heart on her sleeve and brought an immense amount of joy and passion to every point. She was nearly impossible to take off the court and played in all six rotations as a setter and right side. When she was on offense, her shots were smart, and she wasn't afraid to swing in big moments. As a setter, she kept all of her hitters involved and was a gritty defender. Raya also had a highly competitive serve that kept her behind the service line multiple points in a row.

Taylor was on the right side when I saw her playing, and she was such a spark on the court. Her consistent play, motivating communication, and ability to terminate were a great combination. Taylor's discipline in transition made her consistently available to earn points, and she switched up her shots well. She was impressive throughout the tournament and a go-to player for Slam.

Maddie is a right-side player who gives all-out effort on every point. She is a solid defender and does a great job digging rogue balls out of the net, anticipating plays, and just filling in gaps where her team needs her. She is engaged, competitive, and efficient. Maddie never gives up on a play and is always hungry for the ball.

Samantha was at libero for West Bend Juniors, and she made a massive impact. Her scrap and hustle changed play after play, and she was absolutely relentless. Samantha took up a lot of space on the court and made it her mission to stop her opponents from earning points. Her serve receive was clean, her defense was disciplined, and her coverage was quick.

Isabella did an absolutely wonderful job running her offense this weekend.
