<p>The team started off taking sixth in the 17/18 Girls Early Bird Shootout and 15th out of 31 teams in the 17 Club Division of the Nike Classic in Columbus last weekend.</p>

<p>Junior [player_tooltip player_id='603546' first='Chloe' last='Hershey'], currently enrolled at Campbell County, is back on the club season after a year away. She played defense over the weekend as the result of an injury, but has been a sound outside hitter in the past. Ryle junior middle/outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='535265' first='Rachel' last='King'] is also back after not playing last spring as the result of an injury.</p>

<p>St. Henry junior [player_tooltip player_id='727132' first='Kali' last='Mccane'] will play libero or setter with McNicholas sophomore Bailey Batin playing defensive specialist or outside hitter. Another listed setter is McNicholas junior Eleanor Roth. Milford junior Kate Dalen plays setter and right side hitter.</p>

<p>Ryle junior [player_tooltip player_id='770338' first='Sadie' last='Bolser'] will look to make waves at middle or outside hitter after coming over from another club. Two outside/opposite hitters are Notre Dame junior Lily Isler and Oak Hills junior Nora Smith.</p>

<p>The team is led by head coach Maura Holscher. The next event is the Central Zone Invitational in The 17 Club White Division on Saturday and Sunday.</p>

<p>Villa Madonna junior defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='791679' first='Anna' last='Raziano'] and Boone County sophomore setter/opposite hitter [player_tooltip player_id='486908' first='Maddie' last='Yelton'] lead this team along with Ryle opposite/outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='919067' first='Adailee' last='Schoborg'].</p>

<p>Ryle junior [player_tooltip player_id='485046' first='Emma' last='Jankowski'] starts things up with good first passes with Oak Hills junior Grace Abrams either setting or playing defensive specialist. Pendleton County junior Elizabeth Ammerman can set or play middle blocker. Notre Dame junior Maya Collins will smack balls from the middle or the outside and Newport Central Catholic junior Payton Niehaus will hit from the pins. Ryle senior Danikah Hardwick rounds out the roster.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">King (pictured) had a lot of promise as a sophomore before a season-ending injury. She was not able to play club ball in the spring but is back this spring. King has shown she can angle balls off blocks for big points. She can put balls down on sound defensive specialists. King hopes to get back into the 2024 pre-injury form during the spring.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">MdCane is displaying tremendous potential early in the club season. Mccane is consistent with her serve reception putting balls on target. Mccane stops in her track to make quality two to three-point passes. Mccane makes sound out of system sets and runs a nice offense. She can do the back set and puts the right touch on balls.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Raziano is showing a great ability to execute both overhead and bump passes. Raziano shows nice range getting to balls. Raziano has shown she can take quality swings when needed.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Yelton brings versatility to the team. Yelton can make plays a number of different ways. Yelton makes sound first touches going to her knees only when needed. Yelton runs a nice offense mixing up her sets. She also produces hitting and serving balls.</p>
