PrepDig Resolution: New Hitters Emerge

The PrepDig Resolution was an excellent opportunity for many young hitters to make their debut on the big stage. As I walked around for hours, I was captivated by many that showcased energy and promise. While the young attackers still have years of growth and development ahead, each showed something special, whether it was a skill, athleticism, or raw competitiveness that set them apart. For one reason or another, these players already stand out and I can't wait to see them grow and develop their games in the years to come. Treutel is a rising six-rotation outside hitter with all the tools to become a standout. She combines natural power with athleticism, allowing her to score while also contributing in serve receive and defense. Her court awareness stands out at a young age already, as she reads the game well and makes smart decisions under pressure. She also plays with passion. All these traits combined will impact play on the court.     Brown is a fiery outside hitter who has a "never give up attitude" and plays with relentless energy. She has a solid swing and does well in out of system attacks, which are all the makings of a rising outside. However, her competitiveness, especially on the defensive side of the ball where she reads plays well and refuses to give up on points makes her really stand out at a young age.     Berndt is an intense middle who brings quick feet and an aggressive swing to the net. Her speed allowed her to be effective in transition. Berndt can also take big swings from the pins making her a versatile attacker. She also consistently applied pressure with a solid serve that opposing teams struggled to handle.     Severson a young, powerful outside hitter who can terminate swings with authority and apply pressure at the net. She did a solid job transitioning off the net to position herself to take big, effective swings turning opportunities into points. Defensively, she puts up a good block, making her a reliable presence on both sides of the net.     I love lefties so it is no surprise that Meyer instantly caught my eye. Meyer is a left-handed, right-side hitter with tremendous potential. She took some big aggressive swings and appears to thrive in tense moments, showing no hesitation when the pressure is on. At such a young age, she showcased some solid blocking and defensive skills, making her a dual threat offensively and defensively.
