The Lansing and Flint areas have been adding stronger and stronger volleyball talent recently.

Just in 2025 alone, there was a core of really promising underclassmen to come from both areas. Here's a look at some of that talent that shined during the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='832069' first='Eva' last='Arambula'], So. OH Bath

The Bees played against some tough competition this fall and Arambula was able to show she could hold her own with the best. She had 250 kills this season, as well as 300 digs and 45 aces. Arambula had some big moments in high-pressure matches, which bodes well for what she can do in the next two years.

Delainey Buchanan, Fr. S DeWitt

Being a freshman setter for a Division 1 program is no easy task, but Buchanan showed a lot of maturity and handled herself well. She had 747 sets for the Panthers to go with 148 digs and 44 aces. She will step into the 2026 season even stronger, knowing she's got the leadership ability to succeed.

[player_tooltip player_id='814463' first='Johanna' last='Duits'], So. MH Lakewood

The Vikings have been no stranger to talented middles. Duits showed good improvement as a hitter this fall, tallying 289 kills while hitting over .270 on the season. She also was steady with her blocking, posting 50 in the fall while disrupting a lot of additional shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='553582' first='Kalina' last='Fast'], So. S Waverly

Fast didn't see the same amount of reps as her peers on this list, but she showed plenty of promise when she was on the court. She helped run the Waverly offense and brought out some great swings against solid Lansing-area opponents. Her defensive play also was on an upper tier.

[player_tooltip player_id='454374' first='Addison' last='Nostrandt'], So. DS/L Birch Run/Michigan Elite

Nostrandt has already established herself as one of the standouts in the state for the Class of 2028. This fall, she was among the dig leaders in the state with 583. Nostrandt was also an elite server with nearly 100 on the year. She earned All-State honors in D2 and All-Prep Dig honors for D2.

Zoe Taylor, So. MH Okemos

The 6-foot Taylor showed a lot of upside that Okemos will look to develop over the next two years. Taylor had 124 kills in 2025, while also picking up 56 blocks. You could see Taylor pick up the intensity later in the season to become a more dominant player in the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='888953' first='Kennedy' last='Thomas'], Fr. MH/S East Lansing/FaR Out

Thomas was a real bright spot for the Lansing area this fall. The Class of 2029 put out some impressive talent overall and Thomas looks to be one that can add a little more attention to this area. A rare middle/setter combo player, Thomas had 239 kills while hitting over .280. She also had 427 assists, 241 digs, 51 blocks, and 55 aces. Thomas can do a little bit of everything and has a very bright future.

Allison Veith, Fr. MH Ovid-Elsie

Ovid-Elsie was looking for someone to step up in the middle this year and Veith was the one to do so as a freshman. She put down 180 kills in the middle and kept a respectable hitting percentage in the process. Veith showed some promise with her blocking and serving as well.
