Among the ones going on in the Houston area was the second stop of the H-Town Showdown, which reunited around 70 teams across three age groups in two venues in the region on Saturday.

Prep Dig Texas was at FAST Complex in the afternoon, checking out the eight teams that competed in the Bracket A of the 18s Division, and we're now featuring the most impressive players we got to watch. The liberos are in the spotlight today:

Nicholas was with the HJV 18 Elite team that ended the event with two wins and a loss. A very technical libero, she used her ability to anticipate plays to be one step ahead on defense, ensuring her digs kept the team in system, even in transition. Nicholas also led her team's serve-receive efforts, efficiently covering a large portion of the court and thriving with her passing. The libero served well, too, and was very consistent with her play in general.

Webb and her HJV 18 Premier teammates completed their participation in the tournament with two victories and a defeat. Very agile and always well-positioned, she got a lot of touches on defense, controlling hard-driven swings and reacting quickly to get to tips and deflected shots at the left back position. Webb also helped her team recover shanked passes and digs, sprinting for the ball and putting it back in play. The libero was very reliable when asked to set in transition, too, doing a good job of getting the ball near the net, where her hitters could swing it.

Chang featured for the Texas United 18 Red team that accumulated a triumph and a pair of upsets during the day. A tall libero, she did a great job with her positioning, not having to go too much outside her body range to make defensive plays. Chang was also solid in serve-receive and remained consistent with her play, while also constantly and effectively communicating with her teammates. She was very confident with her transition sets, using her hands on most of the occasions and setting against the flow in some of them.

Kersee was part of the [program_tooltip program_id='538544' first='Katy' last='United'] 17 Molten side that had a campaign of one win and two losses. She was very good in serve-receive, covering a large area of the court and using her excellent ball control to deliver accurate passes to her setter. Kersee also did very well on defense, using her quickness to get to the ball, and was very disciplined with her positioning when covering her hitters. Her quickness also helped when she had to set in transition, getting to the ball in no time and always being in great balance when she made contact with the ball.
