The gym in Kansas City was buzzing as the USA National Team Development Program camp tipped off alongside the prestigious Triple Crown NIT. With elite talent from across the country in attendance, Texas athletes made sure their presence was felt. I had the opportunity to evaluate the camp in person and walked away impressed with several standouts who competed with confidence, athleticism, and purpose. Here's a closer look at a few who elevated their stock on a national stage.

Brooke Toliver brought electricity to the court the moment drills began. At 5'11", she is a member of the coveted ten-foot club, and that vertical explosion shows up immediately in both her attacking and blocking presence. She gets off the floor in a hurry and reaches high above the tape, making life uncomfortable for opposing hitters. When she connects cleanly, the ball comes off her hand with heavy pace, the kind of swing that shifts momentum and ignites a sideline. Her block timing is impressive, and she uses her athleticism to close quickly in transition. There's an emotional spark to her game; big swings from Toliver energize teammates and bring the crowd into the match. She competed fearlessly against some of the best middles in the country and never looked out of place. Athletes with that blend of explosiveness and competitive fire are always worth tracking closely.

Hana continues to validate every bit of attention she has received. At 6'0", she brings ideal size to the setter position, but what truly separates her is her command of the offense. Having consistently played up in older divisions, she stepped into this elite environment without hesitation and looked completely at ease. Her communication stood out just as much as her hands as she was vocal, clear, and connected with her hitters throughout the session. You could see the trust forming in real time. She delivered hittable balls from multiple release points and maintained tempo even during chaotic sequences. Miss Penberthy carries herself with poise well beyond her years, and her decision-making reflects a high volleyball IQ. When her 2029 class rankings debut, expect her name to be prominently featured. She has all the tools to anchor an offense at the highest levels for years to come.

Currently ranked No. 70 in the 2028 class by Prep Dig Texas, [player_tooltip player_id='575086' first='Morgan' last='Nesloney'] showed why she belongs in conversations about top defensive specialists in the state. At 5'4", she plays with speed, anticipation, and confidence that immediately stands out. During camp play, she tracked balls aggressively and covered ground with impressive quickness. Hard-driven attacks did not faze her as she absorbed pace and redirected digs with control. Just as important was her voice; she communicated constantly and helped organize the defense in front of her. Teammates responded to her presence, and it was clear she commands respect on the floor. Miss Nesloney looked comfortable competing against nationally recognized talent, which speaks volumes about her preparation and composure. Defensive specialists who combine leadership with high-level ball control are invaluable, and she demonstrated both in Kansas City

These three are just a snapshot of the Texas athletes who earned invitations to this elite camp. More standouts will be featured soon, but one thing was clear: Texas was represented the right way. The talent, competitiveness, and pride on display made a strong statement about the depth of athletescoming out of the Lone Star State.
