Tri-Star Juniors 16, 15 Navy Team Overviews

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Located in Martin, Tennessee, the [program_tooltip program_id='946150' first='Tri-Star' last='Juniors'] volleyball club gives players in west Tennessee and western Kentucky the opportunity to play against more of a national schedule. The club is part of the Delta Region consisting of western Tennessee, Arkansas and all but southern Mississippi.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>16</strong> <strong>Navy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team is split down the middle with half from Kentucky and the other half in Tennessee.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The defensive specialists are Fulton County freshman [player_tooltip player_id='930476' first='Brooklyn' last='Owens'] and McCracken County sophomore Harper Orr with Crockett County sophomore Lakyn Forsythe doing the setting. There is plenty of balance at the net with two Tennessee middles in Obion County sophomore Lena Kate Johnson and University School of Jackson sophomore Ella Sallee.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team has great options on the outside with University School of Jackson freshman Jas Holmes playing right side hitter. Marshall County sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='755896' first='Laney' last='Yates'] and Hickman County sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='612112' first='Macy' last='Howell'] give the team sound swings on the outside along with Marshall County sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='905602' first='Bella' last='Redden'] and South Gibson freshman [player_tooltip player_id='767426' first='Ava' last='Dyer'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team did take 15th out of 38 teams in the Battle on Broadway in the 16 Premier Division in Nashville. The team plays in the UA Bluegrass Tournament March 6-8 in Louisville.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>15 Navy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Three South Gibson players in freshman defensive specialist Kenli Page, freshman setter Nora Brafa along with middle hitter/defensive specialist Saydi Fletcher graze the roster. Obion County freshman Emmalyn Brown is a defensive specialist with Henry County (TN) freshman Lillie Archie setting and playing defensive specialist.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Murray freshman [player_tooltip player_id='818668' first='Savannah' last='Georgiou'] plays outside hitter with eighth grader Emma Grubbs setting and freshman Kiley Crossno playing outside hitter. Yates has a great approach and takes timely cuts to get on top of balls and send across hard crosses, even putting balls off blockers. She sends good roll shots to different zones, even taking solid out of system shots. She makes good passes then quickly hops into her attacking stance.
