There's plenty of setting talent in this Class of 2028 and you can expect quite a few to find a landing spot at the next level when their prep careers wrap up.

Here's a look at some setters that deserve a little more of the spotlight moving forward, as they can be real breakout talents.

[player_tooltip player_id='743769' first='Joeleigh' last='White'] S/RS Gull Lake/USA Michigan

White is a prospect that is inching closer and closer to being a complete player. She's already got two positions where she plays at a high level, but also brings a great serve, and some impressive defensive instincts to the court. White mixes up her set speeds and locations well and her leadership skills are among the best in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='795567' first='Kendall' last='Sierzputowski'] S/DS TC West/Northshore

Sierzputowski has gotten some opportunities to shine as a defender at the varsity level and she's proven she can handle pressure situations. That applies well to her pursuits as a setter as well, as she is able to control her emotions and play with poise in a key leadership role. Sierzputowski has the athleticism to shine at either spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='765782' first='Abigail' last='Griffin'], S Romeo/Michigan Elite

Griffin has really nice spring in her sets, as she's able to consistently hit her marks to get good swings out of her outsides, while also being able to make the quick connection to the middle. She learns her opponents quickly and applies that to where she sends the ball and her communication.

[player_tooltip player_id='765790' first='Piper' last='Ayotte'], S/RS Skyline/Michigan Elite

Ayotte had a good fall that she can build on and take her game to the next level throughout the rest of 2026. She got a feel for up-tempo play and helped Skyline make a deep postseason run. Along with her improved setting and improved pace, Ayotte brings a lot of positives on defense as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='742032' first='Nyla' last='Linton'], S/RS St. Catherine/L2

Linto is a very agile player that is able to use that to be an impressive finisher on the right side, while putting together smooth setting. She adjusts well to an off set, or an off pass, depending on her role at the moment. Her court vision and instincts are in a good place right now and should only get better with more experience.

[player_tooltip player_id='939682' first='Kendall' last='Kwantes'], S South Christian/FaR Out

Kwantes brings a lot of competitiveness and determination to the court. She battles hard defensively and comes through with some very quick-thinking digs and blocks for her team. As a setter, she's going to put in the work to try and get a clean set to her hitters. She can get low and adjust her positioning to keep her team in-system.

[player_tooltip player_id='939684' first='Sofie' last='Sanders'], S Hudsonville/FaR Out

Sanders competed with the big fish this fall in running the Hudsonville offense and leading the Eagles to 30+ wins. That alone has to be crucial in developing a strong setting prospect. Sanders never looked overwhelmed or rattled when facing the best in the state. It only pushed her to put her foot on the gas even harder.
