2029 Pins Primed to Break Out

These pins from the class of 2029 are blazing through March and looking to end the month with big-time performances. Most, if not all, will be at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier in Spokane this weekend. It's an awesome opportunity to see many of the top teams in the PNW face off against one another and other top teams from around the country.    Capps is a long 5'11" outside, who also plays basketball for Woodinville. The 2029 prospect is gaining valuable reps playing in six-rotation sets, and her frame and skill set point to a bright future. Capps may not be finished growing, and it seems reasonable to project her as a 6-foot-plus potential OH. She has a sound armswing and generates a terrific angle with her high contact point. As she adds strength, her overall game will continue to accelerate; she plays confidently in serve receive and is taking big swings on the pins.     Prohn has been excellent rackimg up kills from the right side for WVBA 15 Adidas. The Monroe freshman has a terrific, high contact point, and her length and eye work give her a plus skill set as a blocker. Prohn and her team will be in Spokane to play in the 15 Open Division at PNQ.     Wellington is a skilled and versatile player who has helped deliver some big wins for Dakine 15 Pink National this season. She moves extremely well in the middle and back row when serving and defending- she may be in the middle for Dakine, but she has the looks of a player who can find her way on either pin as well. The freshman from Eastside Catholic High School can get off the floor quickly as a blocker and will make adjustments with her hands when she reads attack angles. Dakine just won the PSR National Bid and will be a strong contender in a loaded field in the 15 USA Division at PNQ.     Ruck and her Blue Royals Platinum team will be in action at PNQ, competing in the 15 Liberty Division. The attacker from Kamiak High School is long and looks comfortable blocking and attacking on the right side. Ruck rips her swings to the deep corners; she is able to find the floor for kills and has the vision to find room around the block to operate.     Axton is a talented multi-sport athlete. She had an excellent freshman basketball season on varsity and is a solid sand player in the summer. We like her powerful right arm from the outside- Axton isn't shy about unloading a wicked swing when she has an opportunity to score, and her sand skills show up when she is playing defense in the back row. At 5'11", Axton has great size for the position, and she combines that with an admirable willingness to compete for the win.     The Graham-Kapowsin freshman has been a more than solid contributor for her PJVBC 15 National squad this club season. Lickert is a solid passer and scorer on the pin, and she has a go-to shot for every out-of-system situation she has to handle as an attacker. Lickert's patience on the outside is terrific; she works slow to fast and finds a way to get her feet to the ball and rip a swing or drop in a crafty shot to score.
