Nebraska's Class of 2027 has given us plenty of major storylines and memorable moments over the past few seasons. This group has now reached veteran status on the prep circuit, with most 2027s occupying the 17s age group in the ongoing club campaign. However, we still have room for new names on our radar.

We've repeatedly emphasized that many of Nebraska's 2027 gems remain uncommitted. This year's club season can be the perfect catalyst for recruiting moments, so we want to do our part to cast a wide coverage net. Our latest Nebraska 2027 rankings update brought several fresh faces to the fold, and we ought to cover a few of them this spring.

Premier Nebraska 17 Black's new-look lineup has been a frequent discussion topic this year, and that starts with an emerging leader at the setter spot. Herboldsheimer has established herself as an ideal fit for 17 Black's dynamic, balanced two-setter system. The Gretna East junior is a skilled distributor in three-hitter rotations and makes extraordinary contributions to her team's floor defense. 17 Black doesn't need perfect passes to operate its attack, either. Herboldscheimer gets her feet to the ball quickly and has a knack for getting the most out of every situation. That leadership has soared in the Premier Nebraska gym.

Malcolm High School usually brings its best to [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] for club competition. Blair's stock soared last fall as she racked up accolades with the Clippers. She was an all-conference performer while running the offense for Malcolm, which climbed to last year's Class C1 semifinals. We had known about Blair's high ceiling as a defender, but she took the reins of the setter spot and excelled. She brings the same influence to [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 17 Blue and brings everything you'd want from a signal-caller.

Nebraska Elite had plenty of hidden gems for our 2027 refresh. Capello stood out with Nebraska Elite 17 Echo, a team that made quick early-season gains on the Great Plains Region tour. This squad has deployed various frontcourt combinations this spring, and Capello's versatility helps expand these possibilities. Her experience in the middle and on the pins translates to tremendous attacking range along the net. Capello wields a quick burst off the floor and will keep reaching higher as 17 Echo accumulates high-level reps.

Our regional tour continues with Club Legacy 17 Bravo. This squad made waves on the 16s scene last year, and Kyllo has added a new jolt of firepower to the 17 Bravo net presence. She was a volume scorer for Arlington High School in 2025 and has a unique approach in the front row. Kyllo primarily patrols the left-side hitter spot, but she has also shown some improvisational prowess when attacking off of one foot. 17 Bravo can leverage Kyllo as an in-rhythm terminator or an out-of-system outlet. This small-town star can adapt and deliver.

Banzai VBC's setters have been especially impressive lately. Wenck has helped raise that standard through her work with the club's 17 Select lineup, and positive results have followed. 17 Select recently found success at this month's Premier Showcase, where Wenck's precise second contacts left her hitters with gaping seams to hit through. The Omaha Westside junior also provides the intangible skills that take a setter to the next level: vocal guidance, positivity, and an unwavering competitive edge.

We have one more for the Banzai crew. Monlux made the shift to Banzai VBC 17 Select for 2026 and has immediately upgraded the team's first-ball offense. This middle blocker's emergence is no surprise, as she put down a triple-digit kill total as Bellevue West's most efficient attacker last fall. The Class A crucible has primed Monlux for subsequent gains with her new club squad, and the 2026 slate is just getting started.

Finally, we land in the Nebraska Juniors camp. Like many standout Nebraska Juniors attackers, Skaggs has anchored multiple frontcourt positions throughout her prep career. She wields a wicked slide as a middle blocker but can also put away first-ball opportunities on the left side. Nebraska Juniors 17 Red has harnessed these talents and given Skaggs as many swings as possible during her trips across the net.
