PNQ 2027 Pins Who Scored in Spokane

The 17's Division at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier featured heavy-handed scorers on the outside and the right side- the position groups from Washington are deep and talented. This group was handling business in Spokane and helped their teams to terrific wins over the weekend.    Gourley was hammering away for kills at PNQ, and her calling card will always be her powerful arm swing and ability to score. We liked her calm platform in serve and receive, and her commitment to running down balls and getting on the ground defensively. Gourley is skilled and strong; she can handle a serve with pace or a big swing when she is in the middle back. The Columbia River junior has always had a rocket arm; she is fine-tuning the rest of her game to match it.     Bigby has a terrific all-around game; her defense and passing are outstanding, and her smooth swing continues to add velocity and punch. The Kamiak star has added strength as she heads into the end of her junior season. It's noticeable when she rips a kill to the hard angle or detonates a swing off the block and into the next court- Space Needle 17 Blitz will compete next at the Salt Lake City Showdown in late April.      Baker is a blocking and scoring threat from the right side for Dakine 17 National Pink; the team finished 4th overall in the 17 Open at the PNQ- another awesome finish for this tough squad. Baker just keeps winning big, both in club and with Curtis during the high school season. The 6'0" RS has strong hands and a great wingspan; when Baker cashes in a stuff block, her team feeds off the energy. A terrific quality Baker shows as a blocker and an attacker is patience. She is always up on time on the block, not early if a hitter is off the net or dealing with a bad set. As a hitter, she can work to a fast or slow tempo set and control her swing, taking something off and finding a corner or hitting a rocket when she has the opportunity.      Boyle is a smooth swinging pin who can score from anywhere- she is long and lanky with a high contact point and a game that still has room to grow. She flows easily to the ball and doesn't get locked into a particular spot with her swings- she will find the line or push a ball to the corner to keep defenses guessing. She is a player with potential to watch as the club season continues and heads into high school ball.      Beers is comfortable attacking the line and finding blockers' hands to create kills even when she has two up to deal with. The Bonney Lake stand-out has continued to grow her game and is playing with terrific confidence and urgency on the pin for PSVBA 17 Legacy. Beers is dedicated to putting up a strong block; she works hard to team with her middles and shut down opposing attackers. PSVBA and Beers will head to Nationals with a 17 Liberty Bid earned at the Northern Lights Qualifier.
