We were fortunate enough to have multiple scouts in attendance this weekend. Spring Smackdown, as always it is a great tournament that is well run and competitive. There were plenty of exciting matches throughout the gym and lots of talented athletes on every court. Thank you to all the athletes and parents that stopped to say hi. Also, thank you for clipping our backpacks with inspirational messages. Let's take a look at said players who player sensationally this past weekend.

Amarii Bagley: Right Side Hitter for Shockwave 17 Gold. Amarii has big time power in her swing. On multiple occasions, she power right through opposing blockers to get the kill. Her ability to score wasn't the only thing she brought to the table. She was also a formidable blocker too. This player out of Kansas has some potential in the near future to become a dangerous front row option.

Carrie Miles: Setter for Elevate 16.2. Her speed and athleticism allow her to do a great job of tracking balls down after they are passed. Another thing that stood out with her was her leadership on the court. She is extremely vocal and uplifting, no matter the circumstances. She is a very consistent server who hits her spots well.

[player_tooltip player_id='715182' first='Isabella' last='Robberson']: Libero for Peak 16 Elite. Isabella is one of the best in the state at her position for a reason. We have her as the number one overall defensive specialist in the class of 2028. Her consistency is to be over the course of an entire match. If you somehow ace her, you need to keep that game ball and put it on display. She reads servers and hitters with the best of them. Using that, she can make tough plays look mediocre. Her and her team cruised through every match to get to the championship game. Eventually they took home the title in a tough 3 set championship fight with Rise 17s.

Harper Hedgecock: Right Side Hitter for HBJ 16U Kobie/Emmie. Harper is a strong left handed right side that really compliments their two big time outsides. Her ability to score forces defenses to worry about defending the entire net when she is In the front row. She did a really good job of attacking balls down the line and did it often. Watch out for Harper and company the rest of this club season.

[player_tooltip player_id='285769' first='Grace' last='Baughman']: Setter for Charge 17 National Tulsa. Grace steadily been rising in our rankings. The two main reasons on full display again this past weekend. Her court awareness and leadership are increasing developing into the top-tier status. She is also developing her all-around game and expanding her setter capabilities. She has often gotten to run a 5-1 system this club season and got to work on her front row setting. Her ability to be a scoring threat up there is developing quickly. Colleges are beginning to see the high ceiling she possesses.

Spring break is fast approaching and recovery is much needed. We will have a couple rankings updated coming before the end of March.
