The physical tools may already be there, but college coaches are watching for something deeper. How does a hitter manage out-of-system situations? Can she make smart decisions under pressure? Does her presence raise the level of the players around her?   At this stage of development, the position asks for far more than arm speed. Sophomore hitters are learning to read the block, expand their shot selection, and handle the responsibility that comes with being a primary scoring option. The ones who stand out are the athletes who combine physical ability with awareness, discipline, and a willingness to grow.   The eight hitters featured here are beginning to show those traits. Each one brings a clear strength to the court while actively working to strengthen another part of her game. Their goals for the club season reflect a mindset focused on improvement, team impact, and steady progress.
