Our latest wave of new additions has eclipsed the century mark.

The Nebraska 2028 rankings just received another overhaul, and we had plenty of room for fresh faces--100 of them, to be exact. This year's club season is an invaluable opportunity to see more rising sophomores and add to our ever-expanding database. We've even had time to revisit last year's high school campaign to add more rural gems to the fold. Everything goes.

We can't possibly introduce all 100 of these athletes in less than a week. However, the next several weeks of coverage will provide ample venues to layer in new names for our write-ups. These post-release features are just the start of the journey, so stick around.

For now, here are a few Nebraska 2028 additions we couldn't wait to talk about.

Here's our chance to expand on one of [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last='']'s surging stars. Franz has fit right in with the [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black crew and brought her best to Minneapolis for the Northern Lights Qualifier. Her physicality, agility, and range overwhelmed opposing blockers en route to a 16 Liberty berth. Franz exhibited an uncanny connection with her setters, even when first contacts didn't yield ideal situations. This Lincoln East sophomore will find a way to score.

It's easy to forget that Haynes is playing up a year when she takes the floor for Premier Nebraska 17 Red. She has all the length, athleticism, and range to dominate among her older peers. Haynes is primarily a right-side hitter for 17 Red, but her frontcourt versatility extends far beyond a single position. Combination plays and crossing patterns are a perfect way for Haynes to remind us of her attacking efficiency in front of the setter. The recent qualifier circuit has added to Haynes' highlight tape, making her a surefire addition to the rankings.

Our "playing up" theme persists with our next entry. Sybrandts climbs the age ladder to become a vital scoring outlet for [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 17 Lime. We crossed paths with 17 Lime at a few early-season tournaments, and Sybrandts' out-of-system assertiveness was a consistent difference-maker. The Grand Island Northwest sophomore has a knack for tooling the block and getting the most out of her approach. It's the exact skillset we'd expect from a [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] outside hitter.

We're keeping close tabs on [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 16 Navy's midseason results, especially with Adeshina making her mark at the net. This Millard South sophomore has an enormous ceiling at the middle blocker spot, and she is quickly tapping that potential with her 16 Navy squad. Adeshina churned out indefensible angles during her team's 6-2 run through the ASICS Presidents' Day Classic. 16 Navy has also leaned on Adeshina to anchor the team's strong, formidable block. We're eager to see her development continue with prominent Great Plains Region events on the April slate.

2026 has provided our best-ever look at the upstart EVNY Volleyball club from the Omaha area. Hotz was a standout at last winter's Nebraska Exposure Tour, so her inclusion on the watch list was overdue. She exhibited tremendous defensive hustle and passing prowess while playing alongside unfamiliar teammates at our event. Those skills translate well to the ENVY gym. This club brought some of its best to the Iowa Clash, and Hotz represents a strong foundation to build around in the Class of 2028.

We had a lot of Banzai VBC standouts to plug into our 2028 list, and Blackburn is a particularly notable one from the club's 17 Select roster. This right-side hitter has experienced the crucible of Class A competition with Bellevue West. Blackburn logged several quality matches with the Thunderbirds and has applied those underclassman reps to the club side. She fortifies Banzai VBC's wing blocking to shut down opposing outside attackers. Of course, Blackburn can do her own terminal damage behind the setter, too.

Let's wrap up with one of those high school game-changers we were able to revisit from 2025. Kriewald was a key cog in Central Valley's run to the state tournament last fall, extending a successful multi-year stint for the Cougar program. The sophomore pin hitter put down nearly two kills per set while maintaining one of the team's best attacking efficiencies. And, like most rural gems, Kriewald is a multi-sport athlete whose competitive drive shines far beyond the volleyball court. We couldn't miss this one.
