Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the Salt Lake City National Qualifier Showcase, held at the Salt Palace Convention Center on April 24th. The event brought together athletes from across the nation looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors based on what they showed on the court.

Juliet plays at Thousand Oaks High School and [program_tooltip program_id='510736' first='Sports' last='Academy'] Volleyball Club. The 2029 standout showed up at this showcase and gave every college coach watching a clear and compelling reason to write her name down immediately. Miss Thompson attacks with a physicality and willingness to swing in contested situations that most players her age simply do not have, and the confidence she plays with at the pin tells you she has been in big moments before and learned from them. Her approach mechanics are clean and she arrives at the ball in a strong position consistently rather than improvising based on where the pass lands, which is the sign of a hitter who has put in serious technical work on her craft. She stays engaged defensively and does not disappear from the point when the ball is not coming to her, which is a maturity indicator that coaches at the next level prioritize when evaluating young attackers. There is still significant development ahead of her, but the foundation is already built well enough to project with real confidence. Juliet is a 2029 outside hitter who deserves serious attention from programs building their recruiting boards early. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

Kamila plays at Lake Travis High School and Austin [program_tooltip program_id='431229' first='Performance' last='Volleyball'] Club. This youngster from the class of 2029 already shows the kind of feel for the position that programs spend entire recruiting cycles trying to find and rarely do at this age. She has the physical tools to grow into a legitimate college-level distributor and she pairs that frame with a court vision and decision-making ability that reflects genuine understanding of what the setter position demands rather than simply going through the motions. When I was watching her during the scrimmage drills, I noticed that she moves to the ball with intention and delivers from a consistent release point, which gives her hitters the timing information they need to be effective rather than forcing them to adjust on every swing. Her ability to manipulate tempo and keep the defense off balance rather than running predictable patterns is the quality that will define her ceiling as she continues to develop. For a 2029, the processing speed and composure she already brings to the position are well ahead of where most players at that age are when you put them in a competitive national setting. Kamila is a setter to watch and the programs that identify her early are going to be very glad they did. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

Ava Scott, a Class of 2029 libero from Gorham High School and Maine Juniors Volleyball Club, is a back row competitor who has been named a key returning piece of a program that has won three consecutive state championships, and that kind of recognition from a coaching staff that has built a dynasty means something real. She plays with an explosiveness and court coverage that makes her physical stature completely irrelevant because she simply gets to balls that most liberos never reach and does it repeatedly without making it look like a scramble. Her serve receive platform is quiet and disciplined and she handles velocity well, redirecting pace with accuracy rather than absorbing it and pushing the ball wherever it lands. What separates her beyond the technical foundation is the competitive mentality she plays with, the kind that tells you she genuinely understands her responsibility to the team and takes it seriously on every single point regardless of the score. She has played in high-stakes playoff environments and performed when it counted, which is experience that translates directly to what college coaches are looking for when they evaluate young liberos. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. You can also DM me in Instagram and X by searching @CoachMikeDZ. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Family! Don't be afraid to interact with us. We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments. Keep them coming!
