2027 Setters To Get Excited About

<p>There's a lot of high-powered middles in the Class of 2027 that are gearing up for their senior year.</p>   <p>We've covered a lot of the talent in this group, but there's eight setters that may not get as much credit as they deserve and are in line for big 2026 fall seasons.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='460587' first='Bridget' last='Boughton'], Lakeland</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">If there's a definition of a utility player, Boughton exemplifies it. She can do everything you need on the court. She can set, hit, defend, and serve and do it all at a high level. There isn't a team that can't use a player like Boughton on their roster, as she provides great flexibility in a lineup to go along with a strong skillset. You can't keep her from having an impact on a match.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='778028' first='Bria' last='Hogeboom'], Grand Haven</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Hogeboom had an outstanding 2025 fall season for the Bucs and steps into her senior year with some explosive hitters to feed. She's definitely been flying under the radar, but nothing should hold her back from having a great senior year. She's proven she's got the goods to run an effective offense against the best teams in the state. Hogeboom won't be lacking in confidence this fall.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='916051' first='Quinn' last='Knoblauch'], Hanover Horton</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Knoblauch is another do-everything setter/hitter option that is flying a little under the radar. She's got good length, and great instincts. Her sets are consistently accurate and lead to big swings, while she's proven she can make some challenging attacks across the court. Knoblauch is also a strong defensive contributor, putting in the work to keep her team in any point.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='582308' first='Kendall' last='Michels'], Laingsburg</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Michels is a dynamic setter/hitter combo player that is going to give you all she has to help propel her team to success. She plays with a lot of savvy and awareness, making plenty of high IQ plays. Michels has a smooth delivery on her sets, and has continued to build on her swing to be more impactful and produce a higher finishing rate. Michels is going to be a handful for opponents this fall.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='536393' first='Berklee' last='Stimson'], Davison</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Stimson did some good things for Davison last fall and this year the Cardinals will be tasked with developing some new lead hitters in 2026. Stimson is capable of getting the best out of those new players, as she's got consistent touch and plays a hittable ball. She's also a threat from the service line and can come through with some timely digs.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='456251' first='Alexa' last='Turner'], SMCC</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Turner is one of the bright prospects to come out of the talented SMCC program. She's got good length and a lot of athleticism to be an effective setter/hitter combo player. Turner is a multi-sport athlete, which shows good footwork and quickness at the net. That, along with her work ethic, make her a player to watch this fall. Turner will keep the Kestrels right in the title mix.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='710832' first='Anneliese' last='Weber'], OLSM</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Weber had some bad luck in the fall of 2025, but has been on a real hot streak throughout club season and is now a Winthrop commit. She is going to be driven to really shine during the fall season and help the Eaglets achieve the high potential they have for 2026. Weber brings a lot of tempo and athleticism to her position and should create an explosive offense.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='512892' first='Brynn' last='Wilcox'], Bloomfield Hills</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">The Black Hawks were riding high after reaching the state final last year, but lost arguably the most impactful player in the state. Now, Bloomfield Hills will need to rely on Wilcox, a very capable setter, to help bring the best out of her returning hitters. Wilcox has quietly been one of the most improved setters in Michigan and this fall will be her chance to show just how strong of a prospect she is.</p>
