AAU 16 Open: Setters Ready To Lead On the Big Stage

She has continued to define her movement both in and out of system that is more efficient in how she gets to the ball and prepared to sling it. This improved navigation of the court allows her to use her hands often and set against the flow well when on the move in tougher situations. Additionally, Bosse has good command of perfect pass moments to get her arm of choice into advantageous opportunities to swing aggressively with space against a defense that can be challenged by her tempo and location when all hitters are in motion. This is a team that could make a big statement at AAU nationals given the talent they have in each role. Hotz has been their fearless floor leader as one of Ohio's top setters in this class. There is a mutual benefit between her skills and distribution with the corps of arms she has around her. This is the type of situation that setters love when you have good depth of point scoring ability through multiple attackers. Hotz is quick, athletic and savvy in her action to get her hitters into good situations that play to their strengths. She moves really well to get herself into position to contact and send the ball through a full scope of options. This includes footwork that has efficiency and is balanced in pursuit of the ball through three steps and a pivot action that has momentum and flow, followed by her ability to adjust her force of extension appropriately. One of the better clubs for talent development and tournament strength in the greater Cleveland area, this is an environment that trains setters well. The menchanics of movement and pursuit to the develpment of touch and force, this club can produce offense well starting with their setters. Bender is a good example of this in how she is improving all of that in the ways she contributes to her team's effort in locating her hitters well through all options across the net. Cline is the director of the action with good I.Q. is how she runs their offense when multiple options are available to her. Her effort to set against the flow is one of her best assets as she makes good adjustments to her extension and force to get the ball into a hittable zone with some space for her key arms. With some high power potential on this team, she takes good risks to try to find them. She shares the setting role at times and with good results. At 5'9, she is athletic in how she fills the full scope of her opportunities on the courts. Her touch and location setting is simple but effective for her hitters while she can do others things well that impact the game. She defends well with her quickness in the back row while also able to set a good block. Their most recent tournament included a gold bracket finish on the final day of the JVA Summerfest event where they pushed some of the top teams well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
