Butler is another setter that helps her hitters be better in their effort and success by her ability to locate with good variation and consistency. She moves really well to get herself into position to contact and send the ball through a full scope of options. This includes footwork that has efficiency and is balanced in pursuit of the ball through three steps and a pivot action that has momentum and flow, followed by her ability to adjust her force of extension appropriately. Butler helped guide this group to a respectable finish at the recent USAV Club Championships as they won the silver bracket with an overall record of 7-2.

The composure that Butler has to run her team’s offense is a key to her effectiveness and success. She is simple in her mechanics and pursuit of the ball and doesn’t do anything outside of what is needed to be flashy or too deceptive. Her footwork and balance at the point of contact create options for her decision-making while that simplicity leads to consistent contact and touch to deliver tempo and locate the ball through a broad range of offense along the net and in the back row. The back end of this team’s schedule includes Summerfest and USAV Club Championships, both in Columbus, before competing at AAU nationals.
