The “it” conversation everyone's having at the moment involves the numerous kids in the class of ‘28 that received big time offers for their soon-to-be collegiate homes. Obviously, the class of 2029 can't receive personal calls from coaches yet, let alone commit to one place. However, we've got a general idea of which setters might go first next summer. Here are five setters from around the state that are more than capable of running the show at the next level.    Considered by some to be a little small, Miss Hughes more than makes up for her size with athleticism through the roof, strong hands and a good overall grade in all parts of her game. Location, tempo and matchup choice are all innate qualities for Lillian, and those traits alone will earn her attention from high-end recruiters. Add the physicality, high training and coachability, Miss Hughes is a can't-miss prospect from perennial power HSE.     From 3A blue-blood Cathedral comes Alaina, whose size-to-skill combination looks ideal for the next level. Her location is impeccable, she understands a quicker tempo for all of her hitters, and will thrive in a roster situation where she can take over immediately. That size of hers carries over to her defense, and at the net is where she can read and react with the best of them.     Already rated ‘A' in the outdoor game, Elise is aiming toward a beach school that wants exceptional all-around ball control and skill. Speaking of that skill, Miss Browning has used it wisely toward setting in the indoor game, and can locate better than most because of her high-end outdoor training, which requires the best of ball control and volleyball acuity. I know that her wanting to play outdoor ball isn't exactly showcasing her setting skills, but you can't ignore the fact that she could easily be offered to play sand ball before most of her fellow classmates receive offers to their respective indoor volleyball schools.     From west of Indianapolis, Julia is an agile and smooth setter who can do a little of everything on the volleyball court. Setting-wise, look for Julia to understand matchups and take advantage of each and every ball passed her way. The IQ is through the roof with Miss Middleton, and her continued rise through the rankings will reveal to most what she's truly capable of.     The shortest of the athletes listed here today, Emerie can be anything from a 5-1 setter at a smaller school to a 6-2 setter at larger schools that run such a system. Whomever decides to offer Miss Tester, they're getting a workhorse willing to put in extra to be better than the day before. The skill is there, the volleyball IQ is there and the natural ability is there. Now all she needs is a recruiter willing to take Emerie, because her addition to any setting position group makes the entire group that much better.
