<p>The Triple Crown West Coast Invitational, held June 6–8, marked the end of the club season for many Nevada liberos and defensive specialists. With Nationals still ahead for some and the season coming to a close for others, PrepDig Nevada caught up with several backcourt standouts to reflect on their tournament experience. The athletes shared their thoughts on competing at one of the West Coast's premier events, what they learned throughout the season, and the areas they plan to focus on as they prepare for the next chapter of their development.</p>

<p>Stella proved to be a steady presence in the backcourt throughout the season and tournament, bringing energy, determination, and a competitive mindset every time she stepped on the court. When matches became challenging during the tournament, Smith stayed motivated by reminding herself that each point could be one of her final opportunities of the season. </p>

Looking ahead, Smith is focused on elevating her game by improving her ability to read hitters, becoming a more consistent server, and developing a stronger topspin serve. With her work ethic and commitment to improvement, she is a young libero to keep an eye on as she continues to grow.</p>

Her favorite match came during the first game on day one, a tightly contested battle that featured long rallies, aggressive play at the net, and impressive defensive efforts on both sides. </p>

Looking ahead, Lytle is focused on strengthening her serve receive, aiming to become an even more dependable and consistent presence for her teammates and coaches. Her competitive spirit and commitment to improvement continue to make her a valuable contributor on the court.</p>

While it was difficult for her to single out one specific rally or match from the weekend, Huber pointed to first-ball side-outs ending in kills as some of her favorite plays to watch unfold. When matches became challenging, she stayed motivated by focusing on her love for the sport and her commitment to her teammates. </p>

Although she enjoys attacking, Huber recognizes that her strengths are in the backcourt and is committed to expanding her defensive skill set. With her self-awareness, determination, and team-first mindset, she is positioning herself to make an even greater impact as a defender moving forward.</p>

Some of her favorite moments came during the long exchanges where neither side was willing to let the ball hit the floor. Romero pointed to the second day of Triple Crown as a particularly challenging experience, but one that helped create lasting memories and valuable lessons. When matches became difficult, she stayed focused on making the most of the season's final tournament. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Playing up two age divisions, Amaya demonstrated poise, court awareness, and leadership throughout the weekend against older competition. Her favorite play of the tournament came during a match against MPV 15 National Green when she perfectly read an opposing middle attack. After recognizing the hitter's hand position on a tip toward the short left court, Molino reacted quickly and delivered a key defensive save. When matches became difficult, she focused on keeping her teammates connected and reminding them that success comes from working together through adversity. </p>

Looking ahead, Molino is committed to becoming more consistent in every phase of her game, including serve receive, passing, and defense, while continuing to develop as a leader. Her goal is to make life easier for her setters and hitters through dependable first-contact play, strong communication, and a calm presence in pressure situations.</p>

Although the match ended in a narrow three-set loss, Campbell was proud of the way her team competed against a talented and intelligent opponent.</p>

Looking ahead, Campbell is focused on improving her serve receive while also dedicating significant attention to the mental side of the game. By strengthening her confidence, focus, and resilience, she hopes to become a more complete player and an even stronger contributor next season.</p>
