Texas Outside Hitters to Follow At Nationals

<p>The biggest moment of the season has arrived for club volleyball teams from all over the country, as, starting on Thursday, the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship will take place in Indiana.</p>   <p>The tournament that will crown the national champions in the U14, U15, U16 and U17 age groups will reunite as many as 2,119 teams at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium until July 3, with 24 divisions in competition.</p>   <p>Dozens of Texas teams will make the trip up North, and the absolute best players from the Lone Star State will be in action over the next few days trying to help their teams cap their seasons off with national titles. We're now featuring five of them at each position who will be in action in the highly competitive Open division.</p>   <p>Today we look into the outside hitters:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Martin will be with [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation'] - 15 Red in the event's 15 Open Division. Long and athletic, she's a force at the net, scoring at a good rate from both the left and the right. Martin is very good at finding gaps in the block and hits the ball with tremendous power, making it very hard for opposing defenders to control her swings. The pin hitter is also very good in serve-receive, showing solid technical foundations to make contact with the ball and deliver accurate passes to her setters from anywhere on the court.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.instagram.com/p/DYfScHAgQrP/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Lee is part of the AJV 15 Adidas team that is entered in the 15 Open Division. Tall and explosive, she's a handful for opposing blockers and defenders and plays a major role in her team's offense. Lee can play on both pins, but is mostly used on the right and thrives when hitting a quicker set at the pin - she's also lethal when set in a combination play in the middle. She plays very aggressively at the net, and that also shows in her blocking, as she challenges opponents by placing her long arms across the net to stop them.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.instagram.com/p/DW4qmkMjufQ/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">St. Rose features for the HJV 16 Elite team that will play in the 16 Open Division. A fantastic all-around player, she used to be a middle for them, but moved to the pin and became an even more important player on the team. St. Rose stands out in basically every area of the game, but her offense is probably what catches the attention as she combines outstanding athleticism, serious firepower and flawless decision-making to continuously produce at a high level. She's developed into a great passer, can make an impact with her serves and is a tenacious blocker as well, putting her fingertip in basically everything her team does on the court.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Ogbogu will represent TAV 16 Black in the 16 Open Division of the National Championship. One of the most exciting prospects in the entire country, she's one of those players whose performances can be absolutely pivotal in the tournament's outcome. Between athleticism, firepower, technical skills and mental strength, absolutely nothing is lacking in her game. Her offense may be her calling card thanks to her ability to score from anywhere on the court and her outstanding shot selection, but she also impacts the game with her massive blocking and delivers at a high level on the back row, serving aggressively, passing at a high level and working hard on defense.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.instagram.com/p/DVFdShbjsNG/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Permenter will lead [program_tooltip program_id='475085' first='1United' last=''] 17 Blue in the 17 Open Division in Indiana. Standing at 6'2", she's a powerful hitter who has a big role in the team's offense. Permenter uses her size and firepower very well at the net, but stands out for combining it with great vision and consistency in her offense production.
