, but recognition must be given after a win like today. A 10 ft. line over pass kill, a facetime call, and big time digs all in the first set!? Maya showed up with only business to handle. Utilizing her athleticism to get up and blow past blocks, elevated her team’s offensive efforts and fueled the fire to come back in the second set. She took her fight to the serving line as well, pushing points in every opportunity. The momentum was in TAV’s favor because of the confidence and tenacity that was flowing from Maya this afternoon.

Ogbogu will represent TAV 16 Black in the 16 Open Division of the National Championship. One of the most exciting prospects in the entire country, she’s one of those players whose performances can be absolutely pivotal in the tournament’s outcome. Between athleticism, firepower, technical skills and mental strength, absolutely nothing is lacking in her game. Her offense may be her calling card thanks to her ability to score from anywhere on the court and her outstanding shot selection, but she also impacts the game with her massive blocking and delivers at a high level on the back row, serving aggressively, passing at a high level and working hard on defense.

is preparing for Triple Crown through a combination of physical work and intentional mental training. Her team has been practicing consistently while also focusing on building strong connections off the court. Individually, Maya has incorporated meditation and journaling into her routine, using reflection to stay grounded while continuing to improve specific areas of her game.
She is excited to showcase new shot selections and her back row attack, adding dimension to her offensive game. While winning remains important, Maya’s goals extend beyond immediate results. She is focused on long term growth, ensuring that Triple Crown is a step forward in her development rather than a peak, with Nationals still ahead.
Her advice centers on mindset and recovery. Maya encourages athletes to adopt a growth mindset, understanding that great teams will score points and mistakes are part of the game. She stresses the importance of moving on quickly, maintaining a next play mentality, and committing to recovery through icing, stretching, and body care, especially as the physical toll of the tournament adds up over multiple days.

She’s 15 years old and is already developing into a star. I’m from Wisconsin and there were girls from the club I coach for that were so excited to get a picture with her at nationals. The athleticism and physicality is special. Others are drawn to her. Her volleyball ability is special, but she plays the game with great fire and passion where she is going to be one to follow for a long time.

was dominating at USAV Nationals in Dallas, proving why she’s one of the most exciting prospects in the 2028 class. With a 10’7.5″ touch, she was unstoppable at the net—terminating from both pins, tooling the block, and hitting with confidence and control. Her ability to stay aggressive in transition and make smart shot choices stood out throughout the day. Maya’s leadership, energy, and elite-level physicality make her a clear standout and one that coaches at every level should be tracking early.

might only be a freshman, but her game, and her presence, reflect the maturity of a seasoned competitor. Already one of the most talked-about prospects in the country, Ogbogu is drawing significant attention from both top programs and her peers. She’s become a must-watch athlete, with college coaches lining up courtside and players lining up afterward for photos. When asked about the growing spotlight, Maya confidently shared that she embraces the attention and feels fully prepared to handle it.
On the court, Ogbogu is an undeniable force. Her hitting lines alone command attention, not just because of her explosive arm swing, but because of the psychological impact it has on opponents. Her ability to showcase raw, unfiltered power without facing a block creates an intimidation factor that few in her class can replicate. One of the most remarkable aspects of her game is how she responds when challenged. On the rare occasion she’s stopped, she taps into another gear, one fueled by sheer competitiveness. “It’s a feeling I get in all sports,” she explained. “If a girl is about to pass me in basketball or track, I rise to another level.” Once Miss. Ogbogu learns to access that next level at will, it will truly be game over. With elite athleticism, advanced instincts, and a championship-caliber mindset,

Arguably the most talked-about Class of 2028 prospect in Texas, Ogbogu was a central figure in the Madfrog 15 N Green team that tied for fifth place with six wins and just one loss. She was pretty much in a class of her own offensively as her size, jumping ability, power and variety of shots were just too much for anyone trying to get in her way. Ogbogu has a huge scoring responsibility with the team and she fulfilled it very well, hitting from the left, the right and the middle back position. She contributed to the team’s defensive system as well with her big and aggressive block. The outside hitter was also a stud on the backcourt, serving very well, passing efficiently and showing grit on defense.
